The price? Of a Bentley? Inspired criticism. You have just summed up your lack of car journalistic skills in one hit. Ok, easy target on my part but I cannot remember any of the main UK car YouTubers saying anything negative about any car as it's always "awesome" as you've been paid to be there. Ah, I forgot you're not serious reviewers, it's just "entertainment".
Never have I once in my life been paid to review a car, you should be a little more careful with your accusations. My content is a balance of being informative and providing entertainment, that may be describing the car, detailing the experience, explaining the thought behind it and offering some impressions. In this instance the car in question carried options totalling an additional 60% of its base price, which anybody with frequent experience of these things would know is unusual.
If I wanted to be a journalist then I would have studied subjects and aimed for qualifications in that regard, whereas I prefer to create my own style of media which many people seem to enjoy - and I think most importantly, I do. The mistake is that you don't understand what you're watching, you've created an image in your mind of what you think these videos should be and are offended that they aren't that. I think that's quite an old fashioned approach in a fast changing world and as quickly as this has arrived, so will the next thing, maybe you'll prefer that but maybe you won't.

thought this with the 4 youtubers together worked really well, they should do more of this

Having been to my first cars and coffee meet of 2018 it was immediately obvious how much 'the youtubers' have successfully influenced the current young generation. The number of people striding about with their camera/phone at arms length while babbling at it made it quite difficult to get a proper look at anything! Its something that didn't really exist at the same meet 12 months ago. The number of people milling around Yianni at Autosport was something to behold too, it was as if Lewis Hamilton was in attendance...

Wait until you go into central London and see the plague of 12 year olds with that stupid noodle haircut all running in the road to get the same photo/video of a supercar. It's hilariously cringey. DomesticM said:

It's the same anywhere in the world now; even in Lima I found this out totally by surprise. In fact, I was at MTM recently which is outside Ingolstadt and in the countryside near there I was spotted driving an R8 by a youngster spotting on the road side that I later found online. It's not even just city centres now!Just thought I'd contribute something to this thread, as it's more factual than opinion.
I was recently on a press event with Sam of STG, and spent more or less a whole weekend with him.
The man works incredibly hard - all his "free" time on an event was basically spent editing, and he definitely earns whatever YT provides.

Why don't you link us to your reviews or would I be right in thinking you'd be more likely to be paid to keep your mouth shut?johnwilliams77 said:

I saw a post online recently where someone described the spotters in London as ‘a menace’
Clearly that person has never been near anything actually menacing
Hilarious. 'Menace', in terms of 'causing annoyance' makes perfect sense.Clearly that person has never been near anything actually menacing

Careful, I’ve made comments like that before and a few posters seem to think it’s fine to rip into me for ‘defending’ YouTubers. I was recently on a press event with Sam of STG, and spent more or less a whole weekend with him.

The knock-on effect of this is that some enthusiasts and owners stay away. I stopped taking anything interesting to meets a couple of years ago having watched the way this demographic interacted with the cars and their respective owners. Add that to the self entitled mouthbreathing quotient who believe that allowing your kids to physically climb on cars to have their photo taken is not an issue and you've got plenty enough reason for people to stay away.ferrisbueller said:

You have to at least appreciate the irony of someone with your username not wanting teenagers messing with his car.I do find TGE funny and a more natural entertainer than some of the more obvious Youtube stars but his latest upload just sums up this genre.
They don't really give a fk about a cars performance or handling, they literally just want the badge and the kudos of circling a roundabout a few times

Some cool flames and burnouts from Aventadors, GT-Rs and Mercs at a meet in London a few weeks back. Sounds and looks epic on a big TV with the sound up. Best video for a while.
