Not actually what I said - two separate sentences.

I've found most of these modern lexus' look a whole lot better in person than in photos. They can look a little awkward in images but really do look great in the flesh and of a very high quality at that.

My mother has had her IS250 for 9 years now and it hasn't skipped a beat. It still feels very fresh and doesn't have any squeaks or rattles which can't be said for similarly aged BMWs/Mercs etc.

There aren't any other premium car manufacturers I can think of that can offer the same levels of reliability and quality as Lexus currently offer and If I was one to keep my cars a long time, I without a doubt would be looking at one of these.

love my IS300H! Also, I don't think people realise how smooth the Hybrid drivetrain is 90% of the time. Its only when you floor it things start to become more noisy, but its still not obtrusive...refinement is miles better than the equivalent diesel produced by other manufacturer's

Build quality is first class, but interestingly every time i start it up the ventilation system make a noise just like a chicken sitting on its eggs?

My Mrs has an IS300h, now 2 years old 29000 miles and not one - even tiny - flaw to report. 2 services and tyres. That's it. Solid, beautifully built. Sure it's no track weapon, and yes if you boot it the CVT is 'unusual'. Note - unusual, NOT unpleasant. For 95% or driving conditions it is little different to a conventional auto in its behaviour as it is lightly stepped, but it is supremely refined. If you want to boot it put it into manual mode and be done with it.
Thing is with Lexus - like Honda - I feel you have to live with one long term to appreciate how bloody good they actually are. Superb, grossly underrated product.

Why, oh why does Toyota keep on pushing out butt-ugly cars like this? A Global top 3 car manufacturer should be able to make it a nice looking car, no? A lot of dimensions are just off. The wheels are to small, the arches to wide, the nose look's heavy and makes it ugly looking.. The technical exercise will be fine on this car, as every Toyota is. Now let them make a prettier package.

I like the interior but the exterior is incredibly bad.

And on top of that, if you buy it you'll have a Lexus.

The design is provocative - some will love it, others will hate it - much better than a bland design that stirs no emotions at all

The quality is a step from RRS, X5 and GLE, on a par with the Q7, the drivers indeed very good, 200t is a little underpowered but the key model on the UK is 450h and that is a lovely smooth drive

No its not a performance car but over 2 million sales of the first 3 generations suggests that Lexus knows what it is doing

Against an Audi, BMW or Merc I quite like it. It isn't a sports car but IMO looks better than the competition and will no doubt be better made. What more do you want from an SUV?

If I needed this type of car, it would be high on the list.

Just been down to the Lexus dealership to see their first 2016 RX that arrived just days ago. An F Sport in F SPort White with red interior. It is the first time I have seen on in the metal, but it is not available to drive for another month.

My first impresssions are all good. It is slightly larger than the outgoing model, and that is particularly noticeable in the rear passenger leg room. The outside of the car looks amazing to me. There is certainly alot of attention to detail in the design. It does not try to have an 'angry face' like some cars try to be 'aggressive', and the proportions look good with the 20" wheels this one was wearing. The quality of the inside is absolutely top notch with nothing looking 'cheap' or like an afterthought. The seats are very supportive in the fron, and very comfortable in the back. Again, the quality of the leather used is top spec.

The sat nav screen is bloody huge. YOu don't need glasses. But it does not feel out of place either. I had a go with the HUD, and that is lovely and clear, all in colour.

So, OK, there will be people out there that don't like it, or like Lexus. We are not forcing you to buy one. But hey, I am more than happy for this to be my next car (4th RX in a row, so I am kinda sold anyway). I am certainly looking forward to having a road test and trying out the active suspension and different driving modes. It is a good, high quality, all rounder.
