& can I get in + out without crawling on all fours? I tried an Elise & despite trying very hard, I just couldn't get in & out without feeling a complete idiot.
Drivers side or passenger? Despite owning one for 7 years I can't get in our out the passenger side properly, drivers side no problem. Oh, first time I got out one I hooked my foot on the steering wheel and almost face planted into the side of a Ferrari.

lotus need to make a new car, looks just like the 1997 elise ,bar a little reshape.Porsche can get away with the 911 looking about the same for the last ten years, but this car does not.
911 looking the same for 10 years? It still looks like someone heavy sat on an old beetle and how old are they?renorti said:

I don't think the looks are important on this type of car. Its meant for driving, not looking at. That's why they haven't changed it over the standard version. And what's the difference between this car not looking different, and the 911?

Strange that people think they should have larger wheels/tyres. I doubt it struggles for grip...
Don't you know that PH members who have never even seen the car in the flesh let alone actually driven it are much better placed to make comments on its dynamic capabilities than the world leading chassis experts at Lotus?jcl said:
What would provide a similar driving experience and performance for that amount of money?

So I only have the old V6 S... It doesn't struggle for grip. Quite the reverse in fact, between the Corsa's and the DPM system the levels of grip generated are unreal. I absolutely love mine and can't see myself replacing it. Would like to try this new model though, if the gear mechanism is that much better I might see if it can be retrofitted. And if I want more power and an Lsd, hangar 111 can sort that out in the future. Strange that people think they should have larger wheels/tyres. I doubt it struggles for grip...
If you think 350hp is insufficient then you aren't the target market and I'd bet you haven't driven the car either, in which case you are seriously missing out. Or you are MrDemon, who has become nothing more than a fanboy caricature.

If they made it 400hp it would be "better" that there halo model the Evora 400. They wouldn't want to do that.
for the same reason when the cayman S came out for the first time, the 3.4 engine had less power than the 911 3.4 engine for 1997.
They need to keep a model hierarchy. Sad, but a fact.
On a separate note. I wish they kept the look of the pre facelift Evora...

Am I the only one loving the tartan interior which references early Esprits..?
I can appreciate the history behind the tartan, but I'd never spec it were I to buy such a car, sorry, it's awful imo.It seems like a fantastic machine though, I really get the ideas that Dan said the Lotus chassis chap laid out about the engine and LSD etc - I'd love a Lotus one day, should I be in a position to spend such an amount on a two seater that would see minimal use.
No tartan though

I really like Exiges. But, please tell me a 6'3" person wearing a helmet will fit in one.
Well, I'm just over 6'2" and had a passenger ride at Oulton in one a couple of weeks back. Getting in/out with a helmet on was tricky but possible but better to put it on once in. There was enough headroom for me thoughAs an aside it was my first time in one of these and I was blown away by how much traction it had, even on a soaking wet track
£55k seems a bargain and gets an excellent 5 star review in EVO too:

What a stonking car.
