Already mentioned but since my mate is selling his; here's a few more pictures...

Just a note, MNP on the 33 GTR is different to 34s. There are 3 versions of purple on the R34 GTR.

Possibly which is why I have discounted a few for being too lairy from the list that has been produced so far. Ive seen a car in Porsche Amethyst today and its too in your face. I am really looking for something that looks black most of the time but purple in the right light. Jaguar Amethyst should in theory fit the bill but you need to get it into very bright sunlight to see anything other than black and in the UK thats not gonna happen more than 2 days a year hehe
You're right, a few of these colours would be a bit "pimp my ride" for that car. Good luck with it all.

Haven't got a picture to hand but Google 'Dark Fantasy' by MG Rover. It's a stunning, stunning colour.

Etna?
On the 147 and 156 it was called Nero Fuoco 821/A which translates as Fire Black although I think Nero Vulcano and Nero Etna are similar - Etna does seem a little more purple. Nero Fuoco has quite a lot of red in it which can make it appear slightly browny in some lights. Very subtle though.

OP, is it the Jag coupe that'll be wearing this colour?

Worth looking at Range Rover 'Barossa' which is a very dark metallic purple, I used it on my '68 Cooper S when I had it restored a couple of years ago. When I open the garage door it looks jet black but pulling the car out into the daylight you can see the colour which almost looks like blackcherry... difficult to show exactly what it's like in a photo but here goes...

Interesting. In the picture that Jazzer77 posted above of a Range Rover wearing it, it looked brown. I think i might see if I can find a car in that colour to have a look

My wife had a Nissan juke in 'nightshade' which was black until it got into the sun. Then it turned a lovely hue of purple.

Paint was very soft though!

Possibly Malbec Black, GF's Dad has just bought one (Q70) but not seen it in the metal yet.

I like that a lot, must bear it in mind if they offer an any colour option for the new TVR....

Funny you should say that as when the tin was first opened the painter and I both thought it was brown! In reality it has a very deep, fruity shade of purple to it, similar to a lot of Radford / Wood & Pickett mini specials of the 60s and 70s. In very bright sunlight the particles in the paint really 'sing'. Previously BMC Island Blue with a Snowberry White roof, the new colour has definitely given the car a lot more presence.
