5 cars you have always wanted to drive or be driven in?
Discussion
Roads cars is quite tricky, but here we go:
McLaren F1: My ultimate car on so many levels, and Gordon Murray is a hero of mine, but I've never so much as even sat in one.
Lotus Elan (the original 1960s one): These have a great reputation for handling and I'm a big fan of the modern Lotuses I've owned and tried, but I've never actually been in an original Elan.
Porsche 911: A legend, but I've never actually driven one. I realise that I can pop to Silverstone and drive a few for £500, but what I'd really like would be to try a classic one and a newer one to compare and contrast.
Pagani Zonda: Like the F1, this is, on paper, one of my ultimate cars, and I'd love to know if the hype is true.
Ferrari 308 GTB: My favourite toy car as a kid and they were new when I was born. Purely sentimental value, but I'd love to finally try one (a full size one that is!). I thought I'd own one in my retirement, but values have got silly now. When I was younger a good one was £30k..

#McLaren F1 GTR
I'm a little less consistent:- McLaren F1 GTR
- McLaren F1 GTR
- McLaren F1 GTR
- McLaren F1 GTR
Porsche 356 Speedster with a Carrera engine
Porsche 911 2.7RS
Porsche 959 Sport
Porsche 918
Porsche Cayman GT4
I did have the following on my short list: 924 GTS, 968 CS, Carrera GT, 997GT2 RS, 550 Spyder - but I think I've got a good historical range
McLaren F1; surely THE best, and most uncompromised super car. And until recentl years, the fastest
Lamborghini Miura; THE first super car (and who wouldn't want to relive 'The Italian Job'
E Type S1 3.8 Roadster; another nod to 'the Italian Job'
Ford GT40 Mk1 4.7; (not the most recent one), and who wouldn't want to drive or be driven in a car that won Le Mans?
Citroen 2CV 1949 'Ripple Bonnet'; motoring at its most pared-back. Probably. But definitely the slowest...
My list encompasses cars that are iconic in one way or another, and could possibly be considered as 'modern art'.

Well expanding the format a little seeing as some us have better taste and love 2 wheels too.
4 wheels:
Mclaren F1
Ferrari F12
Caterham 620R
WRC spec Integrale EVO II
TVR Sagaris
Bikes:
Honda RC30
Kawasaki H2R - not strictly road going but drop a daytime MOT and no one would notice
Britten
Ducati DR16RR - with race bits.
Suter MMX 500

Dino 246GT

I've been watching youtube clips of all of the above this week and although some of my choices may feel similar to drive, I'm sure they each have their own character. I would dearly love to find out one day...
