Good vans, I'm on my third since 1988 each one did 180K miles plus passed every MOT unlike others we have owned. My latest 10 reg LWB Sport has had a re-map and does 40+ MPG goes like a rocket despite being fully racked out inside.I bought it in 2014 as a standard panel van and converted it myself.

This is mine :
It's a 1993 Mitsubishi 4wd, with the "big" petrol engine : all 2.4 litres of it. When I say 4wd, that is old-school : no centre diff, so 2wd on bitumen, but with a proper low range transfer case.
With the cargo barrier and a one ton payload, you can carry a lot of junk :
My main reason for owning it is a tow hack : I own a boat, and (used to) do a lot of fishing. With the low range I can launch off the sand if the ramp is busy, although I had to weld up the driver's footwell a couple of years ago, as salt water from getting in with wet boots had rusted it through.
Last november it got used as a service vehicle for a forest rally, which involved towing the rally car a total of 800 km with all the spares, tyres and tools as well - I was back to 2nd up one hill, but then the (borrowed) trailer alone weighed about 750 kg!
I sat on 95 kh on the flat in a strong crosswind (here in Aus we can tow at highway speeds), and with the boat I can cruise at 110 kph.comfortably.
I bought it with 125,000 km on the clock, and have added another 200,000 km, so I passed 200,000 miles last year.
Next milestone is 1/3 million km - I would like to see 1/2 million, but it's getting on a bit...

After around £2k spent:
Painted bumpers, lowered, 17" ML alloys, uprated adjustable shocks, remap to 148bhp, stainless exhaust, side windows, 6 quick release seats in the back, quickshift etc
The best van / family / toy mover I've owned, might upgrade to a T5 but they are less reliable and I sometimes put a ton+ in the back so I might not.

This is mine
I had a light haulage business but the work gradually dried up so I thought I'd give courier work a go , lasted 6 months before I decided sub contracting was fools work
Still got the van though it's not used much now, just on a couple of customers oh st button on the phone
I had this idea of converting it into a camper some day
When I was on the road a lot postmen kept giving me the thumbs up , I was going to get a su strip made up
I AM NOT A fkING POSTMAN

Ford Transit Connect when it was brand new. Within 2k miles it needed a new engine (through no fault of our own, bit a problem engine apparently). Away for 8 weeks or so. And then 6 weeks later new fuel injector, out for a week. Thanks, Ford.
Clunk on the clutch.
Drivers footwell full of water.
Ipod refuses to be recognised.
Cruise control doesn't function 20% of the time.
Switch on the clutch failed and the replacement one clicks.
Headlights on dipped beam are an utter joke.
Engine (95bhp 1.6 turbo) is dangerous pulling away from junctions in a hurry, no torque at all.
And at the 40k service my local Ford dealer introduced a vibration that they can't fix despite half a dozen return trips.
My last old shape Connect was 99.9% fault free over the 8 years and 120k miles that I owned it. Wish I'd never sold it tbh.

Daft question, is pic taken at a new house build quite near to Luton Airport?
It's a new build for Oakbridge homes in Harpenden, not far from Luton. We do all their ironwork and automated gates. Daft question, is pic taken at a new house build quite near to Luton Airport?
Saw your pick and thought to myself, that looks familiar.

That is hilarious. When I'm on site I always work out of the back of my van with the doors open and lost count the number of times I've had to remove an inquisitive kitty, I think a tradesmans van is like cat nip to some of them.
Hehe, I can do one better. I left the boot of my Forester (Ok not a van... but it does have a flat load bay ) open well I was some gardening materials from it at my mums. Got back in, drove 80 miles home. Found my mums cat curled up fast asleep in my driver sides back footwell. Had to drive all the way back, the cat didnt seem to notice. Flipatron said:

My 2014 Limited (same colour as yours) is the best van I've ever had - everything works, it's frugal, comfy and for a van, nippy.Clunk on the clutch.
