You did appear to initially be quite close. Using a common landmark at the side of the road you look to be comfortably under a second behind her which is fair enough for her to think you could be a bit close (Only a fool breaks the 2 second rule?). You're not the only ones in the video that look a bit too close for comfort either; that Kuga should have been out and around that E Class before you two were alongside them.

The quick tap of her brakes at 20s shows she is aware of your presence so why did you feel the need to weave between the lanes after that? Trying to bully her in to pulling over a lane so you could make progress?

She seems to pull over when she has a decent amount of time and space to do so at nearly a minute in.

You certainly didn't do yourself any favours by giving abuse back, screen washing her and then needlessly lifting off in front of her later on.

Seems to me that she was doing something similar to what you were trying to do to her but just on a more extreme scale. Poor driving from both - yours was bad, hers was worse.

I think it could be tin hat time for you. Whilst only on viewing on an iPhone I saw you move towards her whilst passing, loose several seconds of video at the 2 minute mark and brake test her causing other people to undertake.

Experienced my first proper road rage incident for a good few years this morning resulting in a young woman determined that I'd crash into her rear at speed because she took issue at my driving:

First ever time I've uploaded footage in the two years I've had a dashcam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuCjy51u738

At 20 seconds in she thought I was too close to her rear ( despite there being plenty of road for a bus between us and no cars in inside line) and brake tested me - all this resulted in was her jolting forward.

At 36 seconds she starts giving me the wker sign.

At 58 seconds as I drive past I get the abuse signs again and I drive along side asking her what the problem is but she has some wire coming out of her ear and continues to give me more abuse.

At 1.23 she drives up my backside flashing her lights and I stupidly make the situation worse by giving her screen wash.

At 2:46 it gets really bad. she's right up my backside giving me more hand signals. I lose my temper and turn my head around gesticulating to tell me what her fking problem is. She undertakes I ignore it then she pulls out and does that.

After the video she's continuing to give me the wker sign for the next two minutes. I unplug my dashcam, drive alongside her and show it her. She does a mock smile pose but then suddenly no more abuse. biggrin
Do you ever drive in any lane other than the outside lane? A few opportunities to keep left there. Also, many chances to stop engaging in that foolish behaviour that endangered everyone. You were a bit too close initially but not uncommonly so, once you had passed her you should have carried on your way.

There was no need to react to hand gestures. The "sticks and stones" proverb springs to mind here. Who cares if she gestures at you? Once you're ahead, forget her!

Why is there ten seconds cut out of the video at about 2 minutes in?

Not that I condone her actions but you were too close to her. Given your speed, at a guess north of 60mph, the thinking time in that situation is at least 60feet (more the older you are generally), let alone your braking distance! You were well within that distance and your manner of driving looked very threatening.

I don't think thi'll go the way you thought!

You appear to have a tendency to drive rather close (2 seconds!!), you like the outside lane (if you wanted to make the point why not move left at every opportunity, you need new wiper blades, brake testing her - tsk tsk, buzzing her wing mirror when you overtook would have antagonised her let alone "having a go back".

The answers are simple..... you should have moved on as soon as you she moved over, you didn't.

I didn't brake test her. I moved to the left lane and back out after she brake tested me to indicate to her there was ample time for her to move in and let me overtake. If I was too close, being aggressive and deserved it then fine.

The reason I didn't move left after was because I was alongside asking why I am a wker.

I accept the screenwash was stupid.

10 seconds missing because 2 clips combined and novice video editing skills.

I accept I was as probably as bad and equally contributed. Lesson learned.

Well, he's taken the criticism voiced here on the chin, a good thing, many don't.

However removing it does IMHO, undermine that.

I appreciate he may have learned a lesson, but I believe that if more people witness the results of situations such as this (only going off descriptions), then they will be less likely to contribute them if in similar scenario themselves.

Removing the video denies others the chance to learn the same lesson.

There was a BBC news website article (I tried to find it but my Google skills have failed me) that addresses this issue in India. For the main part people are frightened to get involved because of corruption.
It's analagous to the situation we have in the UK where a lot of blokes now won't help a broken down female. Similarly with children who have become separated from parents in shops for example - I'd inform a member of staff but no way would I approach the child.

Yeah, but it's kind of satisfying when an obstinate individual in need of a bit of education, receives it.
