Around here, Tesco Normal UL is 99p/ltr and Tesco 99 momentum is 102p/ltr,
Are you sure of the momentum price? Seems low.Been a steady 99.9p for regular and 104.9 for momentum all around my area.

I put Tesco 99 in my CLS and then went back to normal unleaded and it felt flat, few miles and it sorted itself out and seems back to full strength.
Anyone else experienced that, its like the Dog after leftover roast dinner, doesnt want to go back to his dog food !
It isn't unheard of - modern cars are fitted with knock sensors etc... and will adjust their timing to compensate. It stands to reason that the car will have become "used" to 99 octane - and the first few gulps of 95 might leave sour taste until it adjustsAnyone else experienced that, its like the Dog after leftover roast dinner, doesnt want to go back to his dog food !

The Evo can't tell the difference between Momentum or Nitro, and it's generally so crap on fuel that I can't face doing the maths on the consumption, but I've started exclusively using the higher quality diesels in the van, and it's both noticeably more lively and better on fuel ( 40 - 50 miles per tank ) than when using the cheaper stuff. I'd pay more just for the extra speed, anything that livens the van up is worth the weight in gold!

I usually stick V-Power in my Focus ST as it makes it a bit more responsive and nicer to drive but just went to fill up now at Shell at Morley, Leeds and it's 120.9 whereas normal unleaded is 102.9 !! For as long as I can remember there's always been about 7-9ppl difference between the two so why is it suddenly 18ppl?
fk the responsiveness! It's getting normal unleaded in til the price comes back down!!
Is it roughly the same price difference in your areas too?
V-power is 109.99 at the Shell station in Saltaire, that's a silly price you're paying. fk the responsiveness! It's getting normal unleaded in til the price comes back down!!

I only ever use V power as there is a shell 2 minutes from my house, never even look at the prices of the normal fuels these days as you realise just how much extra you spend, I got vpower at a different garage a couple of days ago at 107.9 I thought this was very cheap and had to make sure I had the right pump in my hand!
even at 125.9 I wouldn complain I have paid as high as 143.9 for Vpower 2 years ago!

I'm glad I read this, I've noticed the same..
I mainly fill up at Shell, Garforth but sometimes Castleford and sometimes Wetherby..
Garforth always used to be 8p more, just recently it's always 12p.. Castleford was 11p the other week. Not filled at Wetherby in a few months now but wasn't aware so I'd guess it was normal.
I actually emailed customer services to see what their RRP was if you like, but no response.. I realise the garages are franchises so will have some freedom when it comes to pricing but there must be some guidelines if it means no one is actually buying their flagship fuel.
I'll most probably keep putting it in my car, but at 8p I'd put it in my lasses too as it does improve it. 12p, no..

How did you filter for prices of just V Power? Can't find it below 104.9 nation wide on petrolprices.com
It's the price of momentum I was interested in and as that generally seems to be the cheapest, comes on top of the lists.

I didn't pay it as I noticed the price next to the nozzle just before I picked it up. To be honest I usually don't bother looking at the price at all and have always assumed that the price will be around 8p more than normal but I definitely need to pay more attention in future! Regarding filling up elsewhere, it largely comes down to convenience for me. My route to work doesn't go past any garages at all but there's a bunch of BP garages and Shell garages slightly off route. BP fuel has always had the BP "tax" applied it where they charge about 5p more per litre than anyone else so I won't use them out of principle but Shell is usually a sensible price and I use that much of it that the £4 off fuel vouchers they keep sending me keep me sweet.
Things may have changed but when I was a site manager for Repsol many years ago we were not allowed to change the price of the fuel as it's set by the petro co, not the franchisee, so the 120.9 at that site is (probably) set by Shell.
As has been said. Id just used a full tank driving home from Scotland. Called in at the fairly local Jet garage. Hold your breath... I picked the wrong pump and started to fill the thing from totally empty. The readout said £75 (thereabouts). I actually checked my car wasn't leaking fuel at this point (todays prices and £45 is enough to fill it). So I stopped filling and the price on screen was £1.70 per litre! At that, I immediately stopped filling and just paid. I felt so ripped off, as I'd not seen I picked the high octane and the regular at this time was about £1.35 per litre. I quite like there regular fuel though, it laasts ages.
Todays prices though. My nearest Shell garage was 101p and think the super was 115p. I don't quite remember.
