the episode of top gear on BBC 3 tonight had the Lexus LFA on, agreed AM hasn't got the money that Toyota/Lexus have, but they created an amazing low (ish) volume product, incredible bespoke engine, body, bespoke interior (those clocks!) too. Ffor £350k. Less than half. Makes me think that interior on this is just taking the Mick.

As soon as the other poster pointed out the vents on the Lagonda, it's all I can look at!!!

I saw one of these at last years Goodwood FoS and it certainly is a head turner. I remember when the wedge shaped one was introduced back in the 70's and still one of the cars I love to see even today. It's just bonkers.

The fact they've sold so few means event the target demographic think it's crap. Marketing men lost the plot thinking that some oil rich chaps will flock to buy it regardless of price.

The interior is pathetic for such a project. By all means go out and show what you can do, make a US$1m car .... but at least do it properly and put a bit of effort in.

Had a good look at this in the Dubai Motor Show 2015. It seemed a little rushed and a quick solution to the middle east market demand, so it made sense to specify it to the one location - for others the Rapide would be sufficient. I can see the lack of sales forcing the reduction of production numbers as this prodcut seems ill-timed; would need to quickly get the brand ambassador; Mr Bond to be using one to get interest levels up. Perhaps this will be the car to ferry the actors to and from movie premieres - a task it is well equipped for. Nice to see the name is back but would have been better to spend a little more in the development and release. But as a future classic this might be new wedge - shunned but then later loved.

It just looks like some rebodied Rapide built for nuovo rich people who grossly overpay for things because they can. It also looks like it could be the 2018 Ford Taurus - the styling elements and chintz look straight straight from the Ford styling playbook.

What's a shame is that as ford have appropriated the Aston grill, this could be a Ford design concept for a sporty Mondeo. Which is somewhat ironic given the line about other cars being a bit council.

Technically, the actual reason is there is a recession in the commodity market and the recent rout in the price of oil has financially hobbled many of Astons' traditional premium client base. On top of that the tech billionaires have also been struggling and so have many in finance. If they were trying to sell the 177 right now they wouldn't be able to. Even if this car is turd the reason for not being able to sell 200 is due to £20 oil.

Toyota could afford to lose money on every LFA. Aston Martin does not have that luxury.

Stunning exterior, but for that amount of money it's unacceptable to keep the standard interior.

The interior looks 10 years dated already IMO and I can't help but think the next Ford Mondeo will look similar to this exterior wise either.

And yes, That Renault 25 side profile.

Nigh on £700k.... wow.

The Vignale does look like the result of a dirty weekend in Brighton with a Bugatti Galibier and Jaguar S-Type doesn't it. Amazing how under-wheeled the Vignale looks now.

In terms of design clarity and balance though, I think the old Lagonda looks much better resolved to be honest. The new one seems to be designed by committee. Maybe that's just me being a kid of the early 80s.

While Astons have been ranging from pretty to beautiful over the last 2 decades this one IMO is just plain ugly.

I must be one of the few who think the exterior design is a refreshing change to the gross Rolls Royces and Bentleys of this sector. I like it!

I imagine in the flesh it would look more impressive, but I'm struggling to see much beyond an Alfa 159 with a different grille in that showroom photo.
You do the 159 a disservice....
