My first set of fronts did about 16/17k, my rears are still going at 26k. But then it's a front wheel drive Fiesta ST so it's not surprising.

The front tyres on my BMW 116 have now done 58,000 miles and show no signs of needing replacing. I used to think 35,000 was good on a 3 series. What's the biggest mileage anyone has got from tyres? The tyres are Michelin Energy Saver.
Do they offer any grip whatsoever?

Just put new tyres on the wife's Clio, and I suspect that one was an original that'd done 67,000 miles over 11 years.

Check age on tyre wall please.

They're probably well past it and harder than the road!!
Why do you say that? 60K might be an age of driving to some. For others it's only a year or two.
Balance of probabilities.

Not many mega-mile reps in BMW 116s

320d Msport on Bridgestone run flats.

Had its first service yesterday at 18000 miles. Mixture of urban commuting and some motoray work.

Fronts have 5mm left and rears slightly more. Quite impressed (and pleased, looking at the cost of 18/255 RFTs!).

Used to get 10k miles from the Bridgestone RE040s on the front of my honda.

30,000 miles on the first set of tyres I've had on my M135i (Michelin Pilot sports, not the run flats). I think they're due a change now, but still legal.

Not even managed 12,000 miles on all 4 originals on our cayenne , yokohamas ! I think that's rubbish , it's not even driven hard . I replaced with Michelin see how they go , car feels a lot better to drive now

I think thrift takes priority over grip.

On my FWD cars the rears get replaced around 50k due to condition rather than tread depth. The fronts last anywhere from 10k to 20k, depending on who drives that car the most, driving style seems to be the key culprit.

Elise, it got too costly with the 48's, I have Toyo Proxes T1R's now, last a lot longer and less hard hitting, 48's allowed a bit more fun but I always felt I was losing a fiver every time I took a 'spirited' bend.

Used to get between 6- 8000 miles from the fronts on my previous Saab 9 5 Aero, done about 10,000 this past year on my BMW 525D - tyres hardly look any different.
