Estates - are they now cool?
Discussion
How a Ferrari Daytona could ever eb an eyesore I don't know, but that 'estate' Daytona is a mess.
Can I put the original question the other way, why do the majority think saloons are cool? Apart form being cheaper, why would you run for the saloon given the choice? I can't see any advantage, what am I missing?
Mumbles: I've always wanted a late 80s 'S' Series Merc barge, but apart from conversions Mercs of that period are almost always saloons.

I have a 2.2 Cdti EX, fully loaded so to speak. Apart from some recent large bills, exhaust manifold but Honda did pay for the part It has cost buttons to run. I would like a newer one, looking at this Type-S at Gatwick Honda. However, no service history apart from pre-sale by Honda is putting me off. How they can sell it as Honda Approved baffles me.

Undecided over getting a newer one of these or just keeping it forever as a utility car - 18 mpg and £500 tax don't help though.
Of course if you're mere pleb like me, these are 'estates' only when you're not, and when a mere Lamborghini simply won't do, you walk into you choice of Italian coachbuilder and ask for a 'Shooting Brake".

Epic. There was an article back in the day explaining where a lot of these leviathans began life. Apparently the Eurocrats had a fleet of these to ferry all their hot-off-the-press documents and daily newspapers at top speed between Brussels and Strasbourg.
Very easy to forget how easy it is to share information these days compared to 30 years ago. Do motorcycle couriers still exist?
