RE: Ford Fiesta ST200 - Geneva 2016
Discussion
I think considering that Renault's Clio 200 came out in 2009, ford are a bit behind in terms of power output for their small hot hatch. I know that power isn't everything, but it just seems a bit odd that this doesn't have 220bhp+ in 2016, 7 years after the clio came out given the way power outputs are going up across all cars.

Clearly Renault should've spent more time and effort in developing the chassis than chasing numbers. I don't think I've seen a publication prefer it, despite the power difference.Al U said:

Please tell me what is selling more?I can't even remember the last time I saw the new Clio RS. Fiesta STs are everywhere.

I don't get why they bothered. If you're going to do a special Fiesta then go all out and do it properly. This is slower than an MP215 Fiesta and probably more expensive and you can't choose which colour you want...
It's 0.3 seconds slower, and even then it depends how much weight mountune test with compared to what weight Ford test with. It's 212ps with 'overboost' - but realistically who is at WOT for more than 15 seconds?Edited by Janesy B on Tuesday 1st March 09:44

They achieved the power figure you could get easily with something like a revo remap so this looks like a car whose appeal is largely due to it being a "special edition".Yuk at Silver
If only they'd address the buzzy intake noise and make it sound more like the nice warbly one in the focus st. Somehow doubt they will have done for this variant, but fingers crossed for the next gen!

Like the colour although I wish ford offered the ST in silver
Agreed, I think silver would really suit this car.If only they'd address the buzzy intake noise and make it sound more like the nice warbly one in the focus st. Somehow doubt they will have done for this variant, but fingers crossed for the next gen!
That is a lot of money, but will anybody actually pay that for one or will there be similar discounts to what is available on the standard ST? If not, the gulf in price really will be massive! Also, haven't seen any confirmation or not, but is this running the Mountune MP215 engine upgrade or is it something different?
Storm Grey looked so much better in the Clio. The Fiesta doesn't have beefed up arches like the 200 does and can look a bit more plain-Jane. I still like them though.
The thing is with Ford they are fully aware of their success of the Fiesta ST. So, as expensive as this new limited model looks/is, they are gonna sell straight away no problems like hot cakes. They will probably do some relatively good deals on them too despite the hike in price.
I do like the new Clio 200T's and i would have one definitely. But the deals on them are ridiculous. Any of their equally as good competitors are basically giving them away. Renault seem to want German branded hyper hatch money for them. Such a shame

Still a bloody fiesta. I simply can't get excited by any of the "normal" cars with a bit more poke. Nasty plastic cabins and switchgear that looks as though straight from a Burrago toy from the early 90's just doesn't cut it for 22k. Include depreciation and your on a big losing streak!
