nice, expected to be around £300k though?
238K apparently....Neighbour apparently has his name down on one!!If the GT3 RS is £131k, surely this can't be too much more than £150-175k?

Maybe but exactLy what some of us want mr Stott . A decent sized car , manual gearbox , no wings and cage everywhere , rare enough to be desirable and not lose your shirt on and invisible to non car nuts [once stickers are removed].
Extremely excited here at least .
For those that want visual drama next gt3 will be naturally aspirated and have a manual option]
You a special Mr Doom, but would the uptake have been as good in the normal market most of us are familiar with? Art,investment or car?Extremely excited here at least .

I'm a massive Porsche fan, but this is somewhat underwhelming.
Unless there's something hidden in the spec sheets it's nothing more than a GT3RS with a manual box and no rear wing. Hardly Earth shattering.

But couldn’t Porsche have been a bit more ambitious… More effort to reduce weight, for example?
The ‘no wings or cage’, bit I like - makes more discrete as a road car. But then they go with the ‘Maxpower’ stickers, which completely ruins the illusion. And it needs a ducktail.
Maybe there’s more to it than an RS with no rear wing and a manual box. But as it stands it seems a bit lazy to me.

Do you know what , I hope I get one I really do . I'm more excited about this than a 918 for example , it's so much more usable .But when I think about it I almost get the impression this is what the gts would be if not for emissions crap . In fact don't be surprised if it's like the sport classic and gts . Remember how after the sport classic there was basically the same thing but called gts? I'm hoping the next gts will have many ideas from this car but perhaps without the exotic materials and engine . The next GT3 however will have the option of a manual and will maintain a naturally aspirated engine . I wish they could just release this as normal car . It's stupid to me .
People need to buy more manuals then I'm convinced they'd make more like this .

What sort of clown is lying £250k for that?
£250k? £170ish is the number I've seen. And it's hardly a Porsche only bubble... go look at the prices of Ferrari's. Or old Fords.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it will be a fabulous car – how can it not be given it’s 9x% GT3RS.

I'm not sure if too hardcore would work , think that will be the new gt3s role . This will come in at 1250ish kg [dry] and apparently has even less sound insulation than the rs . But couldn’t Porsche have been a bit more ambitious… More effort to reduce weight, for example?

My understanding [which is probably wrong , lol] is that it's more about interaction rather than outright track pace . I think some creature comforts are unfortunately expected . However remember that a tiny little 964 weighs in at 1350 to 1375din [incidentally about the same as this giant car packed with all modern safety features] puts in into perspective a little .
I think with current legislation there's only so much you can do .'the trick that I think Porsche ARE missing in my opinion is with the rs . The rs should be stripped to death , no carpets nothing [worse than a speciale] , that's how I'd do it . I'd make the base gt3 like the 73 rs touring and the gt3rs like the 73 RSR [almost].

A new limited run Porsche is always something to get excited about as they are almost always fantastic cars. The problem (challenge) is they have already made the GT3RS... and the R isn't really that different IMHO... hence my disappointment at the specs mentioned today. My understanding [which is probably wrong , lol] is that it's more about interaction rather than outright track pace . If the RS had been a proper, lightweight track car that could be used on the road if entirely essential, there would be room for the R as a more civilised road version. But as it stands, they both seem to be sitting on the same piece of tarmac (manual box aside).
My old 996 weighs less than a 964... but then the doors don't shut with the same authoritative thunk either!

I like the idea of a softer manual rs style car for the road but yes indeed the rs itself should be proper raw
