Looks pretty good, and i'm sure it will be an engineering masterpiece. One thing is getting me though, I feel like the design of Supercar/Internal combustion car has reached a plateau and nothing really fresh or exciting is being released.
I read the headline figure of 1500bhp and just thought, ok. In a world of 1000hp tuned Supras and 600hp Audi estates nothing seems that shocking anymore.
Again, the car looks very nice but nothing looks groundbreaking or new?
The industry needs a new direction, a shake up, to start marching onto new things.
We need something like the 1950's jet age again where people believed anything was possible, turbine engines, wild futurist designs etc.
What the next exciting thing will be, i don't know. But it aint this...
It's a Volkswagen vanity engineering project. It's even heavier than the Veyron which I'm sure automotive engineers will tell you is an engineering fail. Yes it has 1500hp and is immensely fast but could you race it or would the Chiron disappear into the distance for a few laps and then be forced to pit for obligatory refuelling?

talking about racing it is daft. Its not a race car, its not been built to any racing standards. Never designed as a track car.

Is everyone seeing the same car as me? It's hideous!

The front lights are worse than the 4 LED jobs on the 918. It really looks like a Barry'd up Veyron.

I wish they would have made that 4 door concept

Purely for the way the bonnet opens

I can't believe I'm writing this, but ZZZzzz...

This kind of thing is so utterly irrelevant you may as well give us news on the latest developments in the world of Crown Green Bowling.

You're getting old. hehe

It's utterly relevant if you're a russian oligarch, saudi oil magnate or Simon Cowell..........or an 10 year old boy. Unless you're a 10 year old boy like mine who's only passion in life seems to be Minecraft, thinking of ways to become a youtube sensation or occasionally playing football. banghead

Certainly no mistaking how the doors open. Can't believe how those handles made it all the way through to production.
Now that you've pointed them out, yes, they really jar - massive and ungainly (VAG parts bin?). Given what they must have spanked in development costs, it seems odd they didn't spend that bit extra on a more elegant solution.

Hateful.

It just shouts "LOOK AT ME" from the page, styling is outrageously in-your-face. Yeah there's the Top Trumps things and it'll get noticed parked outside Harrods or pootling round Abu Dhabi and I suppose that's the point really.

Statement of wealth not taste.

Oh and the interior is crass.

I'm with the naysayers...
This makes the original look well judged, relevant, tasteful and classy.
It's a contrived over detailed, angry brutal looking mess with a phenomenal interior. Look how we've made it hark back to the Type 57 with a massive C shape on it.... was this a University project for the 1st year industrial design students?

Looks like a Veyron that is consuming another car, I'm guessing it has to look that way to allow for what must be ridiculous cooling requirements. That said it looks quite nice in a lunatic Hypercar sort of way.
Simply put it is very ugly, the veyron is more attractive .

I genuinely expected to read the story on here and see an overwhelming number of comments about how hideous it is!...and there are a lot of people with eyes.. but it does seem as though we've been taken over by the RNIB motoring association! ;-)

What a goppingly awful looking car. I can accept its irrelevance but by jingo it's terrible looking. Every day I walk past a Bentley convertible with various hideous wraps applied and the registration M11NEY. I will no longer be able to dislike that car as much as the whole scale has been re-defined..! At best it looks like someone reversed a Brera into one of those eastern-European-powered pedal-taxi things.

Still as people have said - the Veyron was a huge commercial success, the EB110 certainly was not.

In my eyes, the choice of colours didn't do the launch too many favours. A bold choice, but still a dilemma whether to take a step back and go meh or hmmmm, for me at least.

Never cared for the Konigsegg(spelling?) at all as they seem to be more about dick waving than the rest. Whatever some other company announces/achieves K'egg will come along and say "yeah, but look, we now make this, which is faster" rolleyes
That is every car manufacturer, let alone the ego of the all super car manufacturers.

I thought VW built the V to prove it could be done blah blah blah and lost money on it hand over fist. And yet they build another.....

Pointless to the majority and of what use? I'm also beginning to feel that cars of this ilk and value are in fact vulgar just by their existence and anyone buying one is purely doing so to make a statement of wealth.

I hardly ever look at expensive new cars and think 'amazing' anymore purely for the above reason. However when I see mint old cars - whatever their heritage or value I think 'wow'; I went to a meet a while ago and there was an absolutely mint early Vauxhall cavalier which I thought was superb because someone had take to much time, pride and effort to keep it looking so good.
