Magic odometer moments
Discussion
I wasn't going to post anything about my recent odometer-related adventures until I saw this thread today, and I really can't resist, so here goes.
So I realised a couple of months ago that the big 100 was coming up for my 964 C2 and I decided to stop shying away from the mileage milestone and embrace it instead. A friend of mine who has a 997 C4 was in the same predicament, and we decided to resolve it by doing the only sensible thing - hitting 100k on a road trip to the Le Mans 24 hr, of course.
As you can see, the two cars were fairly lazily stickered up in Union Jacks and Swedish flags (the latter for what reason I to this day know not), and the miles were struck somewhere south of Dieppe.
A guitar had been secured for the trip, a song was duly written and sung. It had the words 'a hundred thousand miles to Le Mans' in it over and over, but the rest of it vanishes in the mists of Rock History. By some miracle, nobody was foolish enough to record it.
A fun way to stop clock watching, and take the plunge into the murky abyss that is a 100,000 mile air-cooled Porsche!

My 120i hit 66,666 miles the other week, although I didn't prep the trip counter or anything:

Think I may have posted this here ages ago, but here it is again. Whether you believe it or not, the music was just one of those brilliant random things that happen - and I'm very glad it did.
