So while out the other day I spotted this. Trundling through the parked cars is its nose peaks out from the traffic. At first I thought that's a lovely E24 six series, then I spot the back eek

So can anyone find any conversions that actually look good and don't seem like a waste of a good car? Or something equally awful accepted too wink

No, I don't think you can, I believe that once you have a Q, it's there permanently. Why would anyone show a Q-plate if they could replace it with a £199 cheapo cherished plate? And there's the year to consider - the main rule of cherished number plates is that they can't be fitted to a car that's older than the plate (i.e. they cannot make the car look newer than it is) and as a Q-plate says the car is of uncertain date, how could that rule be applied?
By using a non age related plate? IE abc 123 or 123 abc. Yes, both versions have an age as such but not a specific year.

I may be guilty of trying to stretch this further than it can go though

My friend built this Mitsubishi FTO pick up. I think the lines work really well. All the bodywork rear of the cab is bespoke.

Looks like it’s for budget funerals. Load coffin, back up to a cliff overlooking the sea, drop down the tailgate, and step on the gas...

Saw this in MK at the weekend, in the spot where the pictures are found too: the entrance to the BMX park. Didn't take long to find it online. Another converted hearse.

Majorly annoyed when I got to the end of the article and read this: "(If you are the owner of this superb vehicle and would like to replace the above work of fiction with the actual truth, please drop me a line. Images copyright Chris Haining, Hooniverse 2016)"

Link I wasted my time with was here: http://hooniverse.com/2016/02/16/v-i-s-i-t-a-rover...

You needed to get to the end of that pile of steaming guff to find out whether it was true or not?

In my defence, I was skimming it, focussing on the car and modification details, but I still feel cheated. Ok that's no defence. Point taken.

This is mine. Mk3 golf ute. It was an estate and the previous owner done all the work.

This was for sale recently

While finding the Ka I came across a Focus ST, maybe not a pick up in a traditional sense.

Also found a Nissan Leaf, which actually looks quite good.

Seems a bit daft given VW made Caddies for those with a burning need to have a loadbed.
