I would love to see an LS at the barge meet - I have never been in one before. The only Lexus I have been in is the electric 4x4 thing which seemed pretty comfortable.
Ooh. There's a gathering of people that spend their time and money on barges! That sounds fun, is anyone invited?

No, not anyone. Everyone!

The more the merrier. You don't even need a barge. Just be vaguely interested in meeting folk who like barges*.

  • Or, according to my daughter, interested in meeting sad weirdos off the internet with nothing better to do. She's a perceptive little thing.

Unfortunately, I can't get the photos to upload, but this is well worth a look!

V Reg LS400, advert reads well and pictured look very well.
Interior, spaz-handle aside, looks immaculate.

Not the best photos, and a distinct lack of gravel, but 70k miles Mercedes S500 with extended leather and electric rear seats. Looks good for 2k or so to me.

Excellent - sounds fun and it appears to be (reasonably) localish to me. I shall check my diary (when she's back) smile

he petrol one i was looking at is having some problems, but i wasn't sure if they were meant to be better after '02.

Does the diesel engine have any particular problems in either 165bhp or 183bhp variants?
Not particularly. The later 6 speed was the one that did that.

...and no, not particularly, although the 163 Euro 3 (the 185s are all Euro 4s and come with dpfs)is widely held to be the preferred option and it has no dpf and is slightly more reliable and less consumptive as a result.

This looks like a rather nice, genuine E34 540i Touring. I certainly loved my old saloon, which was the same colour combo.

Lol, I do apologise...
It's a hang-up from my previous employment as a rough HGV Mechanic; I can be rather vulgar, when the mood strikes!

I thought it does look pretty impressive, I take it the gearbox should be ok (I take it a 4 speed auto? without asking them) with the rica 280 upgrade, it seems to have been done 10 years ago.

Any particular questions I should ask, viewing in advance is not really possible for me as its over 5 hours drive away.

Cheers.

Yeah I wondered if it was the newer one from later on.

Not really a fan of diesels but that seems to be all that's about, however this Petrol T5 could be nice? What do you think?

Any other Merc connoisseurs spotted those new Esso billboard ads with the red W123? Very cool.

Looks good, serviced at Ron Sealey is a good sign too. Getting rare in that condition.

Sophie's journey. Sentimental tosh but nice ad in the modern idiom. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5s0p_GCM6s

Apparently, they said it's one of, if not the best they have seen recently.

The door shuts at the rear are so clean, it almost looks like it's been resprayed.

5 hour journey for me, 1 way yikes.
