The blandness of silver and grey cars.

Silver cars used to stand out before the 00s. I especially hate grey cars that don't put their lights on at dusk / rain / other low light conditions.

Angry looking cars.

It's getting ridiculous now, even Doris's Korean shopping car has a stupid scrunched up face on it.

The 911 has managed to still look nice even with the hardcore RS models thankfully.

I mean it works on Supercars / some sports cars but overall it's just sad to see a car park full of wheezy little hatchbacks and crossovers with daft growling faces.

Renault R-SoundEffect, and the other alternatives. Basically, fake engine noises through speakers in the car.

Pathetic.
How does this affect you in any way?

I drove a diesel clio with this system for a few months, and having it sound (at least to me) a bit like a clio v6 was quite nice. Doesnt make it any faster or whatever, but it made driving the thing more enjoyable to me.

As long as it can be switched off (like the renault system) i have no problem with it.

The current trend for paying stupid money for anything that is even vaguely classed as sports/performance, not because these cars are 'worth' more but just because credit is currently so cheap and readily available.

Touch screens, awful things that should have died in the 80's before they came mainstream.
Too right. You want tactile controls, not something you have to peer at. Touchscreens work well in many scenarios, but in an environment where you need to be looking around you isn't one of them.

ABS, traction control and AWD* are for ham-fisted no-hopers who can't drive.

People on car forums who moan about advances in technology used on modern cars.....

Betting none of them use a 1980's Montego as a daily "because it's more pure" or "because they don't burn people's retinas"
yes

People are never happy. In 25 years time people will be looking back on 'stuff' now in the same wistful way.

Frankly I'd love to go back to the mid 80's with low 20's mpg in 1.6 Escorts with massively fast 9 seconds to 60's time, rampant front torque steer, no creature comforts and the safety standards of a Congolese diamond mine. Eeeeeh but they're light!

Turbocharged 4 pots making up most of the range in executive cars. The intelligent thing to do would be to make your multi cylinder engines more efficient instead of copping out.

Sport badges

Sport buttons

Sport trim levels

..... all of which are typically used to tart up lumpen saloons and SUVs.

For me it has to be:

Towing straps put on cars. Ones that have usually never seen a track.

Stupid wheel camber. Why is having 1 square inch of rubber touching the tarmac good?

Designers trying to convince us its a new model when all they have done is redraw the same car with a straight edge.
Ford did it with the Fiesta a decade ago, the interior was all straight lines.
VAG have done it across the board, their once attractive corporate styling has been turned into something that looks like its been drawn on an etc a sketch.....

The camber/stretch thing doesn't worry me. It makes it easier to see where the dheads are.

The thing I would like to see die is this brand snobbish-ness. No manufacturer makes truly st cars anymore, yet people are still stuck in 1980 thinking that Renault's will explode in a shower of parts, and Fiat will break every 11 minutes. VW's are "well made" and Mercedes is "posh".

It's not something that effects here too much, but the general public seem to think that.

I think even a lot of people on here think the same as well mate! The positive side is that the 'lesser' brands you mention can be picked up for a lot less than the German stuff, whose drivers won't even entertain looking at the lesser brands, blindly maintaining that their cars are superior.
