The camber/stretch thing doesn't worry me. It makes it easier to see where the dheads are.

The thing I would like to see die is this brand snobbish-ness. No manufacturer makes truly st cars anymore, yet people are still stuck in 1980 thinking that Renault's will explode in a shower of parts, and Fiat will break every 11 minutes. VW's are "well made" and Mercedes is "posh".

It's not something that effects here too much, but the general public seem to think that.
I think even a lot of people on here think the same as well mate! The positive side is that the 'lesser' brands you mention can be picked up for a lot less than the German stuff, whose drivers won't even entertain looking at the lesser brands, blindly maintaining that their cars are superior.
I got asked why I bought my RS as "It's french, and a Renault, it's electrics will be crap and it'll break all the time" when they drive around in some bland German diesel box with a false sense of importance and "prestige". Telling him I would rather stick pins in my eyes with chilli on rather than drive a German diesel box which has broken down more than my car has didn't go down well. Especially when i told him that my car is warranted for longer than his, showing that Renault have at lease some faith in their product.

Christ, it really is the male equivalent of MumsNet round here. Middle-aged men moaning about things that irritate them, most of them totally inconsequential. I'm surprised most of you can walk out your front door every morning.

Someone got a chip on their shoulder? I guess the real question is, "Would you buy a German car?".

Lame stuff that is only for stupid girls like Facebook and Twitter being available in a fiesta. Nearly everything I see nowadays though, even things like parking assistance (whether you use it or not) is pretty amazing. I don't think there is such a thing as a "bad car" today. Just ones which don't appeal for one reason or other. Most cars used to absolutely suck.

"Lifestyle" car adverts - "Off-road ability with urban agility" (I think Mitsubishi?), and Vauxhall telling us "your car makes you look amazing" with some idiot who only bought it for the auto-park because they couldn´t manage it themselves.

Spot on! And to think this is supposed to be a Forum for car enthusiasts celebrating and enjoying cars - it mostly seems to be a forum for harping on about how rubbish cars are! A lot of people with chips on their shoulders too, be it about certain car Brands, Finance methods etc.

An old petrol V8 Estate that isn't German is all many on here want and they have zero interest in anything else and come on here only to state this on every Thread they find. Surely there is a Forum out there that caters for just that and they can go hang out and moan about everything else there?

None of the above. But I am enjoying playing "Spot the Zimmer frame user" on this thread.

I don’t agree with the SUV bashing here – as a family car it’s much easier to get kids and stuff in and out of, hence the success of the Qashqai with people who don’t have any interest in cars at all.

Regarding big wheels, the new Renault Scenic comes with 20” rims as standard hehe

I’m not a fan of touch screens in cars either, I thought I’d really want a Jag F Pace but the screen is huge and there’s nowhere to brace your hand against when aiming for a ‘button’ which I’m sure will annoy the hell out of me.

What REALLY annoys me is cars with a false boot floor, which you lift up to find a space filled with polystyrene. Either fit a spare wheel, or make the boot as big as possible, don’t fill it with rubbish to make the car cheaper to build!

Driverless cars- this trend should be killed before it gets out of hand. Cars that warn you if someone is in the next lane and refuse to pull out are bad enough, ones that brake for you more so.

How you will ever sort out the legal mess When a driverless car or driving assisted car kills some
boby I can only dread to imagine.

Only matter of time before someone hacks a driverless electric car and send it on a killing spree drifting around inside Lakeside... actually that might help the nations average IQ score :-)

This, the sooner electric cars take over from diesels the better. I'm also looking forward to self driving cars.
