One of my cars was registered in Northamptonshire and was sold by a dealer in Kent.

One of them was registered in Canada. Maybe they were both stolen and being sold with dodgy paperwork.
Or, here's a thought. They were perfectly legit.
Enough taking the piss wink

The difference is the car is a year and a half old.
I suppose Roo, Tigger sold his 15 year old Nissan Exterminator V12 Nismo iDrive Naked Edition to you, 5000000 miles from where it was actually registered?

There's obviously something amiss as there is a warning on the search that came back. Interesting that there's no CO2 figure either.

Perhaps ring the 0870 number and find out.

that's very interesting thank you very much.

1. It's a vauxhall - walk away biggrin
2. It's a vauxhall Mokka - walk away
3. It's a Vauxhall Mokka without a V5 - walk away
4. It's a Vauxhall Mokka, without a V5, with a warning on the dvla site and a number of other dodgy warning signs.
5. Tingly spider sense

Not sure how many reasons you need to walk away but

Hi, NK64 FMX comes up as a Vauxhall Mokka 1.7 Diesel on eurocarparts.com

However, on the DVLA MOT check - there is no details, which is suspicious as there is no history on the vehicle (and it should have it regardless of the reg as the car once had the VRN NK64 FMX)
It will only appear on the MOT check if it's had an MOT test. A car registered in 2014 doesn't need a test until 2017.

The DVLA vehicle check, however, says it has no record of that vehicle.

However : http://www.ukvehicle.com/N16NLL/ is interesting and DVLA confirm that information.

Vehicle has just had a private plate taken off and things are taking a while to catch up ?

Interesting thank you! Our car had private plates removed on Monday and the DLVA database is up to date with ours so don't see why the mokkas details wouldn't be updated by now aswell.

Here is the VIN number for that car...

Vehicle Registration Number N16NLL
Mode lVAUXHALL MOKKA SE CDTI S/S
VIN (Chassis) W0LJD7EL9EB625009
First Registration Date 25/07/2014

For HPI to cover you for any financial loss you need to enter that and the V5 doc reference number too, although finance needs to be cleared as well, which can be a pain as many dealers will have it on a stocking plan.

Also, make sure you use an HPI company that insure against logbookloans, many don't.

So the car is still registered under its private plate N16NLL all details fr this are fine apart from the finance but that is seemingly paid, waiting to see the clearance email.
The garage is away to put the private plate on retention so surely he need V5 details to do this??

My god there are some paranoid people on here. Cars still on a private plate that's all, one finance loan that should of been cleared and one 3 month stocking loan by the dealer. As long as you get confirmation that the PCP is cleared I wouldn't worry.

One of mine was less than that. Registered new in Northamptonshire in December 2014. I bought it from a dealer in Kent in February 2016. Why on earth would that ring alarm bells?
