SZ you mean?
And you absolute heathen! Ill agree that not all are brilliant, but look at a 159 and tell me it isnt gorgeous. Im not a huge fan of the Giulietta and the 4C noses, but the Giulia looks stunning, and the mito imho is a very decent adaptation of 8c design into a punto sized(and based) package.
And i wouldnt trade my 14 year old 147 for any other car on the block, it just looks right.

I'm sorry but the 159 just looks like another saloon car from most angles. I particularly don't like the front, since that frowning face reminds me of the 90s 'bad boy bonnet' chav craze.
The Guilia's front end is even worse! It's melting!
And the Mito just looks like another little city car.
IMHO of course.
I'll try and add my two pennies worth objectively though we have had a succession of Audis in our family fleet for 11 years now.
I happen to think that Audi is among the best at reasonably restrained styling that stands the test of time. I see my old 2003 A4 quattro around occasionally and it does not look that dated particularly when the latest owner washes it.
I think BMW lost the plot first in the Bangle era and Mercedes quickly followed with over-styling of their models. This is now prevalent among many marques especially with the treatment of light clusters. One car that almost turns my stomach is the Nissan Juke. I simply do not get what the designer was thinking off.
Finally I think the problem with creating a "family look" for a car brand is that inevitably the look works better on some models and not others. As a rule the mid-range say, A4, C Class and 3 series appear the best balanced. The designs can look bland on a really big car like an A8 for example. When shrunk they can look odd like a 1 series or A class, just unbalanced. Personally I think the 7 series and S Class fail to exude any elegance at all and have done so for decades. This is where Jaguar is smart in that the current XJ is markedly different, not necessarily to my taste, but it has a presence that none of the Germans can match.

I may be biased but I quite like the majority of MBs cars at the moment. There are notable exceptions and the CLA is a great example.
The S class, SL, AMG GT and E class all look great to me. Not so sure about some of the G variants (with the exception of the G-Wagen which is super cool).

Mercedes Benz, their cars are god awful looking these days, the C Class saloon is laughably ugly, it looks half melted.
Yep, the current range is hideous! They've rarely been great in the design stakes, but currently they are plumbing new depths which given the turgid square boxes they kicked out for two decades in the late 70s and 80s and early 90s is quite some achievement!Mercedes - They all look rubbish at the moment
Toyota - Apart from the GT-86 I can't think of anything they make currently that looks pleasant
Landrover - They seem to have moved past making cars that look like fridges to now looking like jelly molds crossed with training shoes
Audi has been making the same saloon in various sizes for some time now, I agree it's not exciting but it is a good looking design when you put aside bizarre social prejudice for a moment. I have one (in large) and very much like it.

Yup. They have completely lost their way. All the way down to the current micro-mini thing, with its huge X on the front that continues up the sides.
I don't know where this idea of angles and massive grilles came from, but they need to get past it.
Anime type cartoons I suspectI don't know where this idea of angles and massive grilles came from, but they need to get past it.

Any Marcos from 1970 onwards.
Eh, what? Some fantastic looking cars - Mantis, Mantara, Mantaray, Mantula, TSO - in fact, that's probably most (if not all) of them.Mound Dawg said:
