I don't mean literally!

I have just bought a Toyota Aygo as a second runaround car. I knew they existed and must have seen dozens every day but I never truly "saw" them, meaning that I never consciously noticed them when they went past. They were just another small car. However, now that we have one I notice them everywhere. Anyone else experienced the same? Thinking about it I do notice Nissan Micras (even though they are no more noticeable than other boxy boring small cars). Must be just because we owned a Micra in the distant past. Anyone else experience the same?

I have a grey Passat estate, previously a silver Lacetti estate, previously two silver Mondeos...

I basically don't exist.

Surely the usual mid-spec VAG saloon/hatch simply melts away as well these days?

I notice alot of the uncommon hatches (such as a S-Line Black Edition A3 of the current vintage, Volvo V40, Giulietta QV, ) etc.

Always happens. Whenever I have bought a car that I haven't really seen many of about suddenly there always seems to be a load of them appear from nowhere.
When I bought my Honda aerodeck I was sure I hadn't seen another in the town yet after the second day I knew there were at least 5 or 6.

Women always notice another wearing the same dress, men spot another car the same as their own. It's what tells us apart.

I think you need to use the mirror more. They are usually to be found wedged on your rear bumper - any road, any speed, any time...

Last year I was give a Vauxhall Mokka as a rental. I didn't even know they existed. I got home to realise there was one parked on the drive across the road. Probably been there for months.
This probably says as much about me as it does ably the car.

Generally if a new model comes out it'll be a while before it registers. Except for the Nissan Juke, the first time I saw it I nearly caused a major accident (WTF is THAT?!?).

I don't find cars as much invisible as indistinguishable, particularly from the rear, unless I'm close enough to read the badges. I'd be a crap witness.

"Can you describe to the court the make and model of the car involved in the accident"

"It was an, um, err, silvery-grey one"

Red Mini syndrome: drive a red Mini and suddenly everyone is driving red Minis.
