It was a great car from the get go and now it seems to be much better. I wonder if they will go full bonkers and drop a stripped out and much lighter version?

Why the comparison to the 911. Cayman, 718 or whatever it is called would seem a better comparison.

This photo...wow. Just just the right amount of more aggressive without losing the good looks.

anyone commenting on the noise being too loud without having lived with an F-TYPE is simply unqualified to say anything

I have a V8 S and a V8 R

The V8 S with the exhaust closed is genuinely SILENT - easily Audi levels of quietness (aka silent)

but press the open button, and all hell breaks loose.
What does the button on the centre console do? From memory it just opens the exhaust up, then closes it again. Is that right? I've driven a lot of F-types and they seem incredibly noisy to me. Particularly on start up. Have I utterly missed some third mode on that button? I did a long drive in a SVR RR sport the other day which has the same engine I think. I, personally, found it way, way to loud.

Looks great. Although that steering wheel would go directly in the bin.

I'd be looking at a Merc GTS or R8 at this price, as has been said a 110k version of a car that starts at 52k wouldn't interest me.

Although having said that I drive a 60k version of a 25k car but that doesn't seem as bad, for over 110k you'd want the full experience of a 100k+ car (materials/design/looks etc...)

A F-type V8 coupe with a manual stick and a good deal of weight loss would have any petrol-head salivating at the mouth. I think the company has missed the target with this SVR. The 911-R had shown the way...

The F is a terrific car and I think under-rated. This beast would be awesome I am sure but perhps too much for UK roads. I have the "puny" V6S and love it for general cruising around. When required though it can still pick up speed with the best of them. Do we under-rate it because it's not German?
I wouldn't call the v6s "puny", in fact, it is the first car that is not a v8 that I am tempted to buy for a very long time. A stunning package.

Back to the thread, the SVR is a fantastic development for Jag, the only issue for any potential purchaser could be the titanic residual issues faced by many F-type new car owners as they seem to lose significantly unlike the Porsche. That shouldn't be a major factor of purchase though as the Jag offers so much character, noise and style that should outweigh any potential loss.
