RE: Honda NSX: Review
Discussion
I find the "it's a Honda" thing weird; the same was said about the original at the time, but now everyone professes to love it; Honda badge or not.
When I first saw these I was really underwhelmed. More I look at it, the more I like it. I also applaud Honda for taking a slightly different approach.

CH loved it, nuff said. Junior 918.
TX.
Lets be honest, Harris loves everything. TX.
The interior is ok I suppose, just like an accord, and the outside is also ok. The proportions will give it presence like all mid-engined cars, but it's not really attractive. The engine would neither attract me to or put me off... Ach, it's all just so bland and boring! Automatic, an engine/gearbox combo designed to go fast and nothing else, styling which is probably functional enough but not inspired, an interior which will work well but will do nothing more.. Getting on for 2 tons with a passenger in the car. Just no, thanks.
It's a shame, because being a Honda nobody gives a st. It's not showing off, it's just a Honda. Sadly the car misses the mark.
And what would this car feel like with 300kgs stripped out? What, you mean without the drivetrain? Very slow. That's like saying "imagine this car with a veyron engine and weighing less than a 1000kgs". It's not tantalising, it's stupid.

Judging by the article and the description of how it drives, Honda have done it again, the original NSX rattled cages and this looks capable of doing the same. Its heavy yes, but is that heaviness offset by the driveability it brings? Would love to try one out. I do think it looks a lot better in the real world than it did on a show stand too.
I'd definitely be test driving one if I was in the market for a supercar, sadly I am not

We live in a consumer based marketing led world, brands live on a prestige ladder. The top of the auto prestige ladder is occupied by companies like porsche and bently the bottom by the likes of vauxhall and dacia. Honda are at best in the middle of ladder. When I first saw these I was really underwhelmed. More I look at it, the more I like it. I also applaud Honda for taking a slightly different approach.
Now for some people this will not matter, but for many when they are looking at handing over 130-150k for a car they will look at companies like porsche and mclaren first regardless of how much a technical show case the NSX is.
Just in case it wasn't entirely clear...
Cheers,
Dan

...eager to rev out to its 7,500rpm peak, the sound channelled from an additional intake chamber and into the cabin via speaker-like exits behind the seats.....
This is NOT noise over the speakers; the duct that channels the mechanical sound from what was described to us as 'an additional throttle body' and into the cabin runs the width of the rear bulkhead behind the seats and has perforated grilles beside the B-pillar that *look* like speaker grilles. They're not though - I'll try and get the cutaway image from Honda but it clearly shows a pipe running the full width of the car with 'horns' at each end, covered by the grilles. Similar tech to that used by many others, including BMW, Ford and Porsche ( the 991 has a similar resonator system) but, definitively, not synthesised, artificial or electronic. Contrived, yes! But not 'false'. Cheers,
Dan

Another great article but another Dan article, another reference to the Porschar 911. Yawn.
Why not put a Nismo engine in and crank up the electricity. They it would be in hypercar territory for almost no extra cash or investment.
Oh dear.... are you proposing a Honda/Nissan joint venture? Why not put a Nismo engine in and crank up the electricity. They it would be in hypercar territory for almost no extra cash or investment.

The long-established benchmark product at this price point with comparable power, four-wheel drive and spread of usability and performance by which the NSX will be judged should be ignored just because it has a Porsche badge on it? Please. You may have noticed I also compared it to a couple of other rival products with similar performance and pricetags. Which aren't P******s. Dan
Similar to the other hacks views, nice drivers car despite the weight. Guessing as with the GTR the weight will make itself felt further down the line of ownership. A silly car really considering the direction intended, making it so obese from such small dimensions, lunacy. Even I'd take the McLaren.
