I've just had the ZF 6 speed slusher in my BMW 550i serviced so new lube. It definitely feels a bit more spritely when shifting in sport mode. By no means quick compared to very modern boxes but for a slusher it is ok. Car is on 101k.
I assume that that wasn't done in a BMW garage though? Thinking about doing the same soon for my E61, ballpark price for the job?
£390

I got same quote from 2 places.

Avus blue, extended Champagned leather and a well maintained E34 M5....... surely that's a contender for the exact meaning of the first part of the thread title - The Best ///M.

What you don't see is the owner, behind the camera, a shadow of his former self having been pummelled into submission via. death by a thousand cuts. biggrin

Nice looking ghibli cup at auction. How much are these worth and, indeed, are they 'worth' it?

That's fking cool.
"USD $28,750 (Reserve Not Met)". You'd have to really, really, really, really really want one of the 50 special editions over being almost as cool in a standard one!

Mein gott....

They do look heavenly and just so right. I'd love one, in fact, i will have one at some point, sadly a late 6spd 3.8 is now even more expensive to buy here (Sweden) than a mint e39 M5.

That's nothing compared to what he's replacing it with!

Entirely self-inflicted, and for a second time; a shocking addiction to pain.

I see a couple of B3s in the background (or maybe even a B8?), so I'm guessing the replacement is similarly shaped to the outgoing but has a couple of turbos?

They absolutely nailed it with the E32/34. Such handsome cars.

Loving that M5 but ownership sounds truly scary...

In other news my Croc now sporting a set of Ohlins Road and Track and a lower ride height, it needs some tweaking on the damper adjustment for general daily B road use but it's now more akin to a Porsche GT product in the ride and handling dept. than before which I am very happy with.

The Cayman looks absolutely fantastic, they really are ageing very well aren't they. Yours just looks 'right' if you see what I mean.

Does that include the filter change? Is it integrated on the oil pan on the BMW?

I've a disco 3 v8 needs fluid change, I think it's the same zf box?

If your local to Preston, or fancy a trip out, theres a specialist there that comes highly rated on the bmw5 forum.

And its the prices they ve quoted are cheaper than that^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ even if you change it from a plastic sump to a metal one its still cheaper.

That looks amazing, I'm trying so hard to resist calling about this car! With an E12 M535i currently in bits in my garage I'm fairly sure i don't need any more headaches in my life, but then again....
