Really like that. A lot. But would benefit from 18s (IMHO). Price seems toppy though?

Love the Sebring but I would want V8 power (originality be damned, I saw a Sebring replica at Castle Combe with a V8 in it and it looked amazing and went even better.

The Z4M is stunning.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, we've passed peak car I'm afraid. 2000-2010 was the last decade that things improved without compromise, since then, for most manufacturers, the rot set in and the sports car as we knew it has become a caricature of itself.
With a lottery win then I would be knocking on the door of Frontline with regards a tweaked MGB GT and a Frogeye lick

Z4M is such a handsome shape isn't it, not many new cars that really do it for me anymore tbh

I still like the look of my 981. Its an early car so 2012. Not the best pic I know. Really missing it here as I'm in Benidorm. Come on men you can't all hate it, can you?

Bloody loved my Boxster. Such a brilliant all rounder, apart from the Alfa and the Audi it's the longest I have kept a car.

I bloody loved mine too even though I didn't really fit in it. Can't believe they had such a bad rep from people who'd probably never driven one. I still miss that car even with the aches and pains.

I'll have another some day I imagine but the cost to performance ratio for repairs and maintenance on something like a 2.7 987 isn't great.

120k (hard) miles in my 986 3.2 and not a whisper of trouble other that wear and tear items. Such a stonking engine and a very playful chassis.

Grabbed this better pic from my 996 thread.

Is it really that much larger, as the photo makes it appear, or is that all thanks to perspective?

Can't choose a winner.

The Boxster is better at being a car because it is new I guess or modern. It can soak up the mundane and boring. It can open its roof almost anytime with heated seats and steering wheel. It sounds absolutely awesome when you rev the nuts off it and crackles and pops and does amazing perfect downshifts which I could never manage. Its fast too and has loads of grip. It can even stop quicker than you can think. I think it looks good too.

Then you drive the 911 and you instantly forget all of that and start thinking about character and feel and feedback. Its probably the slower of the 2 but it is 20 years old almost. Its a tiny little car by today's standards but if you have any interest in cars you just have to love it. It feels very early Boxster until you get to a bend and feel the weight moving around at the back. It feels a bit weird at first but then it just grips. You can throw it at a bend and it will go round much faster than you dare. It talks to you like the early Boxster too and it has a lot to say. It just puts a smile on your face.

I like them both. A lot.

The 996 is small. It feels small. I'd guess they're similar in length but the 911 is slimmer I'd say. Here it is next to my mate's Polo. The Polo looks bigger right?

Erm... I dunno. The angles don't help. Besides, don't you know you should always reverse park... wink

It looks as wide, or maybe wider, and certainly longer. In that photo at least, but perspective and angle have a lot to answer for in these sort of photos, I think.

Good - get involved.

I still think i want a nice 986 with some tweaking to get me to fit better. I've not tried a 987 but maybe that's the sweet spot. I dont like the 911 cab profile but I enjoy having the roof down. A 991 targa i could live with but they're a tad expansive.

Its all down to this thread me buying an early 996. I've read enough on here to know they're well liked.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was this guy?

He can drive it very well from following him round, is often there - it was a 4.6 last time I spoke to him
