I find it amusingly ironic that Im the one who has been raised on a diet of Italian "passion" motors since birth yet Im also the one who is "meh" about engines instead of the whole package as opposed to many on here who drool about engines a la Enzo, but in more rounded German packages
Was it meant to be: "I've experienced all these and now I'm meh, whilst you lot dream of it and drive about in german stboxes"?

I want grunt from 2-4k, thats the range thats most useful. I want eco as fk below 2k as all my gear changes are below 2k whilst in and about town.
I want this too. In fact, I want it available from lower revs.I want a deluge of twist from about 1200rpm, I want useful shove that doesn’t need me to wring its neck to get.
I want the extra poke of a turbo so I don’t have to think about which gear I’m in.
I want economy starting with a 4.
I want a decent stereo so the noise of the engine is irrelevant.
I want all of that.
In an estate car, like my E250CDi.
I want my fun car to scream like a banshee. I want it to be truculent if I get lazy with it. I want it make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up simply from the noises coming from induction and exhaust. I want to have to think about how to get the best from it, and for it to reward me when I do. I want nothing about it to be synthesised. I want to have more power than grip, more feel than outright ability and more fun than speed.
Off the top of my head, I can’t think of any cars that fall into the overlapping section of that verbal Venn diagram, and until I do, I’ll continue to have more than one car in my garage.

fk it, I apologise moose. You have driven plenty of motors much like moi and others on here. Any failure therefore, to get across my point is mine alone in the prose. I have related my experience of said Pork previously many volumes ago and probably with more suitable wide eyed awe and wonder. As I say such fault is mine.A couple of weeks after we covered it;

Not keen on the wheels or body addenda on the Alpina derivative but would like the engine in a boggo Z4.

TBF could probably supercharge an M54 and put an LSD in it for a lot less than the difference in cash uplift on the Buchlovian.

Abso-ruddy-yes Will post up more tomorow but just got home from day 2 of GRRC MM and it was fab. Snowy, but fab.
Was at Goodwood Friday and Saturday and it was just fantastic.
Two different seasons in two days.....! Friday was so mild I barely needed a jacket and Saturday was arctic!
But I layered up and wrapped up warm yesterday and it was all good. Track action was utterly fantastic with some epic battles on track, particularly the saloons that went into the dusk yesterday.
