Not quite the Dungbeetle, but that's no bad thing!
Some lovely stuff in the last few posts... I have very good memories of several Cossies owned by mates back in the day. Favorite was a 380bhp Moonstone 3 door with loads of other mods. For many years, my fastest speed was in a Cossie - 169 on the M69 early one Sunday morning coming back from a rave nr Coventry.

Over at Alfaworks this morning having the 4C serviced and a set of Mr Porters' legendary spacers applied to "tame" the somewhat naughty front end of the Alfa. He gave me a test drive of his 4C running 325 ponies that is currently under development.
Dear bloody God!
Spent it cackling like an idiot.

Well its £45k and not over 50, thats even with lots of options.
Carbon chassis.
Italian leather.
Its a different league to an Exige and a Cayman really. They aren't rivals. Not dynamically, etc but as just objects to own, the 4C is completely a different proposition than either of these 2 and the new Alpine. The only "upgrade" route is to a Macca and Ive had some serious looks at a 540, but I cannot in any way get close to the man maths to justify said motor. Exposed carbon chassis is just porn!
Dont get me wrong, I like the Exige, esp the Roadster. Loon had his man invite me to Geneva to go and look at it when it was unveiled and it remains an impressive thing. Dynamically it essentially pisses all over the Alfa, but crucially it only even remains what it unapologetically is - a hardcore piece of kit from blokes who eat turnips. The Alfa demands you dream of more.
The drivetrain. Hmmm. Ooo oo oo Sir, but its a hatchback engine!
Well yes it is - but ...its not the hatchback engine you think it is
Ive said it before, Ill say it again and Ill continue saying it - it aint an Alfa... its a Lancia. That is only even more highlighted under Jamie's engine tweaks. If its sodding obvious after just 2 or 3 mins in a 4C initially that you are driving elephant heritage, its screaming, whooshing and popping at you after 1 min in his. Lampredi lives on!

This looks like some proper kit for that 90s touring car feel at track days.

Lovely looking car which I have always loved the look of. I remember them from the Touring car days and I was at Knockhill when Tarquini rolled his one. This is how I remember it. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/motorsport...

Was standing at duffus dip with my old Dad and my Brother when Harvey tipped him into that, the crowd made a noise only reserved for very special occasions!!
Seem to remember they rebuilt a car from other bits and he was back out racing a few hours later...
Sticky.
Went for a Sunday morning drive to meet my little brother for breakfast at Coppa in Sonning... the traffic gods were kind and I was able to make good progress with the loud button on, though apparently I wasn’t making enough noise for a pheasant to realise I was coming... *thud*. I found the fezza parked on its own so it seemed too good a photo opportunity to miss. The fezza and my brother’s z06 make my XKR look SUV-like by comparison :-(
Edit: Sorry, I have no idea why that’s upside down!
