I'm not in the trade but I know quite a few who are, socialise with some and I'm aware of the basic rewards available as you work your way up. Whereas working in those spheres gives you access to lovely cars and experiences you are unlikely to own anything remarkable and those experiences don't pay the mortgage. I've seen Chris at a few events but never spoken to him. Clearly there is something "different" about his situation i.e. I don't see you, Prior, Fortune et al racing at Spa. Or dicking about in your man from Del Monte garb around the South of France in a 512TR. Certainly he has talent and a style of presentation and communication that everyone felt would be great on Top Gear (and IMO, is).

I don't get the YouTube thing at all. No doubt it is possible to sustain an excellent lifestyle and with clever purchases and sales make more money on the cars your position allows you to purchase but come on, Shmee, JWW et al are clearly from a certain type of background. I don't mind that. What I do mind is the various denials and fogging of the matter. Just admit your family are fking minted and it gave you the start you needed. I actually think there's more credibility to that rather than pretending you're not part of a business empire. The expectation it sets among the young i.e. that all you need is a mobile phone camera and you're going to be a mega money type with a playboy lifestyle isn't necessarily fair. Let's not quash ambition but a large dollop of realism is required.

Having witnessed that I am equally certain that although I'm the best part of half a foot shorter than your good self, being half a foot wider will rule me out of any XI based jollies.

Fabulous!

I’m guessing at 6’4”, wit a 35” inside leg, I might struggle to fit

Whilst I’m no fan of the output, Shmee has been fairly candid on the vloggers thread about how it’s worked for him.

To an extent, yes. He's commendably transparent about the current workings.

Loon, When for me, Brabus were the
bad boys, out AMGing AMG in the esoteric and just plain rude demograph. Beard warning
in case some don't know, the centre rear spoiler vent/upright contains a diff oil cooler I believe.

Is it better then an E30 M3, dunno but our Brabus w211 (wagon) has been the family truckster
for the last almost 4 years and I can't really find a replacement that can seat 5 + mutt, plus 4
bikes on the roof, a few more in the boot AND be type approved for towing the caravan unlike
E63's et al. So, yes, if I had the beans, I probably would!

Sticky.

That looks like a difficult entry. I dont think my thighs would fit through that gap.

Haha. When I first read that I thought the difficult entry was the £130k part! Which it would be for me.

I know there’s a bum for every seat and all that, but I can’t help feeling that the market for that car is shall we say limited? It would suit a retired German porn star who likes track days and has just won the lottery.

I'm pretty sure it was on display at MB World a little while ago. Lovely car, but would never have guessed it would be that much money

Awesome find.

Too bad it has a sunroof.
Also, the left front and left rear wheels are switched around.
