among many others there, I'm loving the Abarth Simca. Pretty little thing and some gorgeous details on it.

One day, with money no object, I will find a crashed 996/7 GT3 and will transplant the Mezger/box and fancy suspension bits into a 996 2S - all the 911 that I could ever wish for...

Moose look forward to hearing your thoughts on how those compare

Bungle sorry to hear of your woes, I work in west London and seems we have gone full circle on car security, a lot of expensive stuff now have steering wheel disc locks on them which I remember my old man having something similar on his Cosworth in the late 80's ! Progress...

DM good to see you back thumbup

Love sports bikes however recently this landed in my garage as looking after for a poorly friend (well that's what I told the Mrs) . On British B roads it is immense and just works, circa. 100 hp of instant go from the v-twin, supple suspension, brilliant brakes, great visibility, wheelies on demand (or not) hehe

Lovely pix Loon and others - top class posting generally as per usual.

cmoose - very interesting on the 996 front. I've nto had extensive experience only brief jaunts in C2 and C4 guise. The C4 didn't feel less fun or less "911 like" to me, but then I'm no hero! Is there a long version?

Bungle - my commiserations old chap. Unfortunately s**t doth happen; we can only hope to endure no more than our fair share and to learn ever more satisfying obscene epithets to describe said contemptibles. Or then there's the Gerard Butler Approach TM (see Law Abiding Citizen). Hopeful the insurers don't play silly buggers.

Moose, interesting quick summary on the 996 differences, the one thing I never really gelled with on my 996 GT3 was the light front end on an empty tank, I always preferred and trusted more in the feel of it with more fuel on board, whilst appreciate using the weight at the rear is what makes a 996 (or any 911) drive the way it does, Porsche have been trying to some degree to engineer it out for years, so I assume the C4 or C4s never suffers from a light front end ? Also assume this comes at the expense of some feel due to the front driven axle ?

Btw still have the 17 inch wheels for your Croc if you still want them.

The market is all over the place. Pre Brexit I think that would have been pitched nearer 150k. Then they seemed to come nearer to 100k. Now going back up? Or down? Can't tell. Interest rises aren't going to be of the magnitude to hurt for a while yet IMO.

Relatively simple, big V12 lump, manual 'box, sensible footprint - there's a lot to like there.
