You can always look at the 993 price compared to pre impact air cooled cars if that makes you feel any better.
Don't 996 seem expensive compared to 986?
Roughly double the money for the 996. Don't 996 seem expensive compared to 986?
Given the commonality between the two cars, that does seem disproportionate. I guess the same could be said when they were new 18 years ago. Then you look at how much entry into a 911 costs and you can see a reason for some of the difference. And a 996 is a third the price of a 993. Yes, Pork prices have got stupid but are they going to come back? If not, if you want a 911, then a 996 is where you put a foot on the ladder. The Boxster doesn't really have such easily traceable lineage. What's its forebear, the 914?
I'd have a Boxster ahead of a 996 'vert. Not sure yet whether I would take a Boxster ahead of a 911 coupe.

Depends what type of car you want, I have owned various 911 over the last 25 years. In my opinion a 986 is better down a B road than a 996 Coupe. I appreciate it's not "a 911" though. I bought a new 996 C2 facelift in 2002, as I had to tick buying a new 911 to my spec off of the list.
Within 10 minutes of driving it I knew I would not keep it long. It was quick, but more Grand Tourer than previous 3.2 CS & Carrera Sports I owned..
I enjoyed the car for 9k miles in 14 months and sold it for £3.5k profit to a client of a well known Mclaren F1 dealer.
Nice to have driven a free 996 under warranty, but I haven't felt the urge to go back though.

"2 million dollars, a mere drop in the well!" With you on that one BB.Two things really annoy me about Bicester Heritage. One, I used to
live about 1/2 mile away from there, and TWO, I used to live about 1/2
mile away from there... All you got back in the early 00's
were gliders and the odd hot air balloon.
This looks rather excellent in a super wafty way for m'way schleps etc.
Sticky
Nice options, v8, low miles, individual spec with light leather and comfort seats, tempted

The Boxster is a fabulous little car, I think I would only look to move to a 996 with an eye for a gradual CSR.
I just wish it was less problematic, only just been in for 3 replacement sensors at great expense to cure an engine warning light and out for a sunny blast today has seen the light back on, reverse light ahs just failed as well.

Good morning
Lovely Cobras L00n and also don’t forget cuddly Dudley’s Corniche in’10’
I’ve a friend who has decided he needs to make a special and is on the look out for an Edwardian engine. He’s not bothered if it’s an aero engine or not but it needs to be Edwardian. If by any chance anyone hears of anything could they let me know please?
Thanks

Funnily enough my chum is planning a similar 'special' too Crook, one remit of his is that it has to be aero engined!
Have a look on prewar.com as that's where those sort of projects/chassis/engines/etc crop up and also join the VSCC too.....that's assuming he hasn't done either of those things already obviously!

The über cool Steve McQueen as Thomas Crown with his Rolls:
I also remember one of the James Bond films (can’t remember which one - but in Hong Kong I think) includes footage of Roger Moore being driven along in the back of a corniche convertible while the roof is being raised... I also (slightly geekily!) remember that the same scene was deleted when it was on TV one Christmas a few years ago!!

Watching these things being flung up Prescott hillclimb is like nothing else, Dad and I have been VSCC Members for longer than I can remember and there is nothing quite like it
Nice T1 and lets be honest old Bentleys are way cooler than equiv RR but at that price has to be an R type or mark VI.

Now down to £5100. Seems scandalous VFM. My wife has just paid £4k for a 2010 DS3!
I paid more for my 08 320 CLS..... bugger....and at the time couldn't find a decent 500 in budget ... double bugger. https://forums.mbclub.co.uk/threads/2007-cls500-5-...
