Was browsing the classifieds myself and I think I would have to try this before the BMs - the £10k GT86 has arrived:

A simple exhaust and remap upgrade seems to wake up the engine, otherwise they seem ready for road and track fun.
Bloody hell are they really down at that level already?!

May have to have a nose about one!
It probably is a great drive, but I still think for £10k my money would go on a mint Z4 3.0Si Coupe... THAT straight 6 and the looks, which get better with every year that passes...
I think that depreciation has been kind on these, baring in mind they could be had at roughly 22-23k after discounts and this is over 6 years old!

I used to work for Toyota and they are a great car that drive despite the slightly limp engine. I also had a z4 coupe at the same time and dynamically the GT86 was the more resolved car but for me the engine, power, looks an interior comfort makes the Z4 my choice.

I suppose it depends if you have kids.

Wow, that seems really cheap for what it is... and they do look very nice.

Are they reliable at that mileage?

I’m seriously tempted by a Manthey’d mk1 or 2, I just weep at the ones I didn’t buy between £30-40k not that long ago!

I don’t recognise this one though-who’s was it?

Compared to a 20 year old 996 - no idea - but it is 10 years newer.

laugh true!

For some reason, Maserati's frighten me. Maybe unfounded.

I thought Porsches were reliable but the costs soon tot up. I've spent about 6 grand on mine in the last 6 months. We all know about the bills they throw.

Can an Italian car be any worse?

I've never had an Alfa and some of my friends claim I'm not a serious car man if I've not. But they'll surely shut the F up if I buy a Maserati.

Hmmmm.... over the 4 years and 70k miles I had a 156 Selepeed, it had 2 engines, about 50 gearbox faults and it also blew an ECU.

My Giulietta's been as good as gold in the 18 months I've had it. Well, apart from a door handle falling off...

Close to bargain barge territory with this, but still seems thread appropriate? 390bhp, lots of waft, and under £7k.

That seems crazy value. Even if it lost £10k over a couple of years, its less than you would lose on something newer in most cases.

Love the Jag... very classy.

Must do some research on Maserati running costs and reliability... gut says it could throw a £10k gearbox issue or something equally as wallet ruining, but that's just a preconception.

Perhaps I'd buy one with a warranty then.
