It would be rude not to meet up for a brew if there's a few of us there

Does look nice. Perhaps try and console yourself with the fact it's the base trim for an XF so is down on toys. It's also perhaps a bit too cheap?

Oh and it doesn't have the super-adjustable sports seats which you'd probably need for that back of yours.
That's what I'm telling myself! Will be keeping my eyes peeled for another, though.

If anyone has any suggestions of something similar that'd tick the boxes for less than 10-11k let me know!

If I go to the 1-5k barge thread, I'll end up bankrupting myself with a v12 7 series or something hehe
The best Citroen C6 you can find. And maybe a little put aside for a bork fund!

For £10k you could have a 7 series, S Class, and an XJ. At least one is almost certain to be working at any given time that way.

It's just a pain. Currently the hazards are flashing at double speed whenever it is running. Wouldn't mind so much but I've already removed the fuse that relates to that when it did it before...

January's Scramble tickets are now on sale

Anyone fancy going if the weather isn't too bad?
I'm in... get back from the Bahamas on the Friday, so a thrash up to Bicester should shake off the last of the jet lag biggrin
Just booked my ticket I’ll be there in my 996 C2.

Cheers
Where in the country are you Chris? Mr Stott and I are fairly close to each other, so assuming we'll meet up on the way and we could meet up with you if you like?

Any other threadists fancy going?
I’m Wiltshire based, so I would normally go A420 then A34, more than happy to meet up depending on which direction you are coming from. I could also go M4 then A34.

Cheers
There's a petrol station just off the A34 a couple of miles away from Bicester heritage we could meet there smile
Is that the BP with a Starbucks next to it on the northbound carriageway of the A34, a couple of miles before the M40 interchange? If so, that works for me say 8:30/8:45ish? If it is torrential rain or snow I’ll probably give it a miss... but hoping for a nice crisp morning and blue skies!

I think you’re talking about the one just before Brackley. I’m going to book a ticket and will be in Brackley that night/morning, may join you lot, if you don’t mind!

I dare say the services AT the point the M40 and A34 meet would be better, much larger car parks.

Then It’d be a quick junction on the M40 and drop into Bicester.

So after the jaguar XF disappointment I've taken the rational decision and I'm likely off to buy a modified E92 335i next week hehe after driving a friend's, it ticked all the boxes. Comfy, powerful and still refined and with some gadgets. Hopefully goes well.

The one I suggested is the BP at Weston-on-the-Green, OX25 3QQ.

I think you are suggesting Cherwell Valley Services, OX27 7RD at the M40/A43 interchange? Happy to head there instead if that’s easier for others? Cheers

Happy to meet any where near to be honest, I'm easy biggrin

Looking forward to some time behind the wheel of the car over Christmas, much more fun than a boat like E Class estate laugh

Sorry, I misunderstood!

The later is probably best, as it services M40 and A34 traffic. Otherwise people coming south on the A34 will need to go past Bicester, then back on themselves.

I can sympathise. After the best part of a year of perfect behavior my 124 has started doing strange things. I sense it may be wiring loom replacement time...
It may be that you've already tried this / it may not be relevant on the 124 but on the R129 it's very sensitive to fluctuations in current. I've yet to clean all of the bulb sockets as previously cleaning the fuse holders and swapping the alloy bullet fuses for brass ones solved the gremlins, however this weekend will see me out with the contact cleaner and emery cloth. That and ttting the N10 relay with a hammer...

I need the car to be running so I can get the radiator replaced cry

Oh wow. That’s interesting. So far the symptoms I have include: rear footwell lights staying on regardless of whether doors are open or not; front electric windows only going up when doors are open. Wipers and subroof stopped working. Heater fan intermittent. The car still drives ok and lights seem ok. I had assumed that this variety of strange behaviour must be a result of wiring loom issues but maybe your solution could be the case. This all seemed to start at once one frosty morning when everything was on at once - heater lights wipers etc.
