I understand your argument but would a 'Mog do this?

You really want a Porcedes smile I loved the one in the Porsche museum. The 280GE Rally Support vehicle was so slow and could not keep up with the 959, that Porsche installed a 928 S4 5.0 32v lump in the G-Klasse. The thing finished 2nd overall In the Rally of the Faraohs behind the 959...
That sounds pretty cool. I thought that maybe it predated the AMG V8-ing of the G-Klasse but no, this 5.6 litre beauty dates from '79!

Porsche engined from 1985:

AMG home brew from 1979:

Hmm, can't copy pics but 512 LM and 300SL are standout cloud9 stuff.

This is what's worrying me. In 5 years time will I have to drive reasonably modern cars because anything older than 15 years - or 10 years by today's money - will be expensive just because it is not modern?
I also wonder whether the London ULEZ will have any impact on inflated prices of modern classics given that in 2021 anyone will need to pay £12.50 per day to drive them within the north and south circular in London. For anyone living near that area it will put quite a dampener on using a modern classic to potter about London in (obviously they should be used to get out of London too but it does affect their practicality if they are expensive to drive around town). And then as low emissions zones possibly creep to other cities...

Obviously there is still plenty of demand for these cars around the country but the low emissions zones might help to shrink the bubbles a bit.

At school (80's), my best friend's dad was a professional rally driver. (in fact dead famous)

He came to school (scheduled I hasten to add) in a 6R4- full tilt rally works rally car.

and proceeded to chuck it about in the playground whilst we and the masters watched.

Bet you couldn't do that these days !!!

Good isn't it yes

The Evora is the most driftable mid engined car I have ever driven. Love 'em.

I'd love to have a go in one. I'll never be a buyer for as long as I have the GT3 though so unless a Lotus dealer just wanted me to take one for a spin so that the battery doesn't go flat.... biggrin

Like Cerberus, however this week, I am mostly coveting Tamoras. Feel like there's a Speed Six itch to scratch, despite all the health warnings, and such a pretty, pretty thing.

I know we've had £95K Minis on here before but even £55K still forces a blurted 'stroll on!' out of me.
