That Nash is a pretty little thing
Nash has long been one of my favourites, a beautifully proportioned thing indeed L100NYY said:
Perhaps a Thread meet 2020 is in order as there really are cars to suit all tastes
I'd be up for that, looks like a good event I'll keep The Thread up to date on dates for next year then, I guess it's quite a good venue location wise as fairly middle ground. It's two hours door-to-door for me,

In other news -
I went to Silverstone yesterday for the VSCC Pom Trophy which is a great (and free) day out with a vast array of cars both competing and racing. I'll post up a few pictures later
I actually rather like the fact it's done over 100k miles, shows it should be a good one. In theory
Gosh it does look really rather lovely imho and a well sorted one is a cracking thing to drive;

I am tempted to get one of these in the summer, keep on browsing the usual sites and this is very attractive at that price....is a 450/500 that much better? Another option is the 400hc model, which is essentially a 400 but with pocketed pistons allowing it to run the higher lift camshaft (I think the same one that was fitted to the 450s/500s). Not a huge amount of difference verses a standard 400, but really suits the more 'revvy' nature of the 4-litre engine cars.
Lastly there is the 430, only available on the very early cars (so looking at the LT77 gearbox rather than the later T5) and not very many about, but I believe *some* came with 'big valve' heads making them extremely desirable.
TVR were very optimistic with their factory HP ratings on all of these cars, but any of them will be huge fun- even with the 400 you are getting a 1,060kg roadster with a 4.0 V8 that should be putting out around 220bhp, they are not slow! Also keeping in mind they have no abs/traction control, and many don't have power steering. For comparison, my fiance's low mileage Z4 3.0si with 265bhp feels noticeably lacking after a decent drive in mine (a 400hc with mildly uprated camshaft).
The RV8 engine is an old fashioned beast, but makes a terrific noise. In my opinion they have more in common with something like a big Healey than they do with their natural competitors of the time (Boxter/S2000 etc)- best way to view these cars is as a classic British roadster but with modern performance.
Biggest thing with any of these cars though is the chassis condition- particularly the outriggers. An underside inspection is a must.
It really is a buyers market at the moment too- loads of seemingly excellent examples for sale, many with outrigger replacement taken care of (the linked one included) available for around £12k. Get a good one and they are an absolute bargain

Does anyone on the thread possess a beard dense enough to contain early 90's Lorinser factoids?
I was perusing a local auction website whereby I found a fairly mint looking 1994 Lorinser CL600 with very low miles [sub 20k] at a price which makes the whole idea rather entertaining. Just wondering if Lorinser did anything beyond styling, particularly whether the V12 is stabling more horses than standard? Can't seem to find anything online.

I think Lorinser of that era was just styling nein?
Mostly yes, but they did occasionally fettle with mechanical parts too.SL 600 with a Lorinser 7.2
S500 with a Lorinser 6.1
That’s what started it!
I am looking for an sec model kit and an e21 gruppe 5 kit to play with. Wondering what a ‘what if’ sec gr5 would look like with the box arches, snow plough and rear tea tray. Add led v12 howl for good measure.
Dubai’s a good place to do it as well, loads of rust free sec’s around with tired engines and interiors.
