Slightly off topic but I was wondering whether other people felt the same way about one aspect of owning a personalised registration which is privacy, we have personalised plates on most of our family cars and we do love them however at times since it makes the car more recognisable people have often told me they've seen my car out and about which is ok however can be a bit of a pain with nosey neighbours etc knowing your whereabouts. Has anybody else had similar problems?
We have one on each car but I've never really thought about it. If I led an exciting life perhaps I'd more conscious of it.
If you neighbour is that way inclined they will be looking for you no matter what car you have or what reg number you have. I don't believe a reg number to make much difference in that regard....I often get told they've seen me with a different reg number or a different car rolleyes
It 100% definitely does. I've regularly been spotted in random places because of my plates
Sorry, haven't seen you yet.

Wasn't quick enough with the camera, but someone flagged down a car today as I was walking by, a Gen 5 Subaru Legacy wagon, obviously a car-share as it had the plate

UBEROO

I like that.

Bought a plate from an online dealer earlier this week. Today I received a v778 in the post it is signed by the seller on section 1 and section 6 and the rest is blank for me to fill in. Is this the normal process? It might sound like a stupid question but haven't bought a plate like this before usually only through the DVLA.

The plate is for my girlfriends car would it be ok to keep on retention like this for a while (wasn't planning on putting it on for a while) or should I put it onto the car and then tranfer it back off (and pay another £80) so it's in her name?

Reason I ask I don't want to leave anything to chance here and lose out
