Slightly off topic but I was wondering whether other people felt the same way about one aspect of owning a personalised registration which is privacy, we have personalised plates on most of our family cars and we do love them however at times since it makes the car more recognisable people have often told me they've seen my car out and about which is ok however can be a bit of a pain with nosey neighbours etc knowing your whereabouts. Has anybody else had similar problems?
We have one on each car but I've never really thought about it. If I led an exciting life perhaps I'd more conscious of it.nonsequitur said:

Today I received a v778 in the post it is signed by the seller on section 1 and section 6 and the rest is blank for me to fill in. Is this the normal process? It might sound like a stupid question but haven't bought a plate like this before usually only through the DVLA.
The plate is for my girlfriends car would it be ok to keep on retention like this for a while (wasn't planning on putting it on for a while) or should I put it onto the car and then tranfer it back off (and pay another £80) so it's in her name?
Reason I ask I don't want to leave anything to chance here and lose out
