You're very welcome! I thought it looked great
I actually bid on the TWO 80B plate as I really wanted it. But £10,000 was strong money. I liked the plate though!
I had no idea what "TWO BOB" meant until I Googled it at the auction - about £13k with extras. I was looking at it as a plate to go on an old car.I actually bid on the TWO 80B plate as I really wanted it. But £10,000 was strong money. I liked the plate though!

Seen a few times near WIlbarston Northants - a 2008 Silver Ford Focus "Style" with
E9
That plate (then on something else, obviously) used to belong to a relative of a neighbour of ours in Rugby 30-odd years ago. Said neighbour had E3 , then on an old Austin 1100...E9
Edit: and now on a 2006 BMW X5 - I wouldn't be surprised if the plates were still in the same family.

Let's not forget, it's the right to display being paid for, not full legal entitlement and ownership.
Let's not forget that people have been trading that right to display for years.pingu393 said:
The mantra on Planet Earth just a couple of years ago was "petrol for ever".
I've got a few on retention, but I know that they are potentially just bits of paper with absolutely no intrinsic value.
Someone will buy them, though. I sold an analog TV on eBay for more than I paid two months before analog was switched off .
Petrol forever? I must have missed that campaign, they've been calling peak oil for decades, mind you it'll always have a value decided by the market. I've got a few on retention, but I know that they are potentially just bits of paper with absolutely no intrinsic value.

I've just sold a plate, a 2 x 2 so someone clearly thinks they're is a value, intrinsic or otherwise, that'll be that "market" thing again....

At Woodhall Services near Sheffield
"I watched him park then advised him he was in a motorcycle bay. He said "I know". When I explained how frustrating it is for motorcyclists he just shrugged his shoulders. He was also challenged by another lady and again ignored our protests. He started to walk off when I asked him if he just intended leaving it there. He replied that he was.
Can you guess what I then called him?
If you know him let him know if I see him again on my bike I so have another conversation with him and will not be so polite." - Sid Gee
