Plates released for next DVLA auction in February.

A plate I requested only two weeks ago for the old man has appeared on the list?!
And the plates I've requested over 2 years ago still aren't there... frown

There is something in there which I'm really, really tempted by. It's the next best thing to a plate on the market at £25k which spells my surname perfectly.

Same - although I've 'only' been waiting 12 months so far.

Reading that inspired me to check the MOT on my ideal plate.

Turns out someone (with presumably the same name/initials as me) has it on a 3 month old Porsche Macan.

ETA: this is a fun game, now checking plates I'd like, to see what car they're on... biggrin

Seen in a Waitrose car park this morning - a Bentley Silver Spur/Mulsanne with the registration 1 CE, believed to belong to Iceland Frozen Foods!
Used to see this often near where I grew up (Warrington) I think I even posted it on here many years ago, owner also had PH5. my first thought was Frozen foods but apparently I was told it was something more to do with Trademark/Patent around Ice Cream.

DVLA have announced that 4000 registration that were due to go to auction in the future will be released on their website on 1st Dec on a first come first serviced basis. You may find that it's in there - they will be set prices. Keep an eye on their website.

Thanks for the heads up, appreciated.

I've just scoured DVLA site but can't see anything about it. Where did you read this?

Back in around 2002, I worked as a consultant for Iceland in Deeside, and then CEO Bill Grimsey used to have "1CE" on his black 750iL. Once morning there was a cock up with my mini cab booking from the airport and I called the Iceland office to see what was going on. After a few minutes on hold, the lady came back to say "Mr Grimsey's car is at the airport having just dropped him off, you can get a ride back in that". And so it was I barged along in the back of 1CE.

According to the AMOC Register of Cars, the registration DB 5 is on a DB5. You'll notice above it the registration DB 4 has been on four different DB4s, but DB 5 on only one DB5.

Some interesting ones I've checked through the MOT website:

MX5 is on a VW Passat! confused

DB5 is in fact on a DB5 smile

RS6 is on a Honda Civic.

DB9 is on a Porsche Cayenne

S2000 is on an S2000 smile

RS4 is on a Porsche 911 Turbo.
