Real Good Number Plates vol 5
Discussion
My first thought seeing that was wondering if it was bought with the intention of adding a conveniently placed screw on the C to make it look like 1 BYE......I'm sure in this case its just the owners initials though obviously
Just looked up 1 BYE actually and it's shown as being on a Ford Fiesta! Must be another candidate for the plate being worth more than the car? I'm sure someone will be able to look up how much it was last sold for

Forty years late with this one but never mind eh - I was watching an episode of The Professionals last night where Bodie and Doyle (in a Landcrab!) are overtaken by a Porsche 924 with the plate '924 F' on.
When I lived in Sandhurst there was a 924 with the plate POR 924S. That was a long time ago too.Hatson said:

got overtaken by an Audi with 5ONG on the M3 last night.
Anyone know who the owner is, I am assuming someone in the music business?

"L 1 was used for many years on the Glamorgan County Council and Mid Glamorgan County Council Civic cars. It was sold off in 1998 for £124,000." The photo's on Nice Reg all, bar the above, show the plate in correct form on various Maybachs that look likely to be Civic cars. So
likely a bit of an aberration by a member of the Council.
