No pictures but some more nice ones from around London

1 SL on a boggo Merc E
X 63 on a RR
COL 1 on a Merc S, I assume belonging to the Colombian embassy
S 3000 on a BMW 330
9999 OO on a brand new Phantom
COL may have been purchased for the embassy, but it is not a diplomatic special - was issued by Birmingham in October 1936.

Balls, could be more effort than it's worth..

I'll look into a bit more though, might give DLVA a ring (leaving out the part about untaxed vehicles laying around..) as they're generally quite helpful over the phone
Think the car can have it transferred regardless of MOT status, as long as it’s been continuous SORN for up to 5 years.

Be aware that the donor vehicle may need inspecting & if this is the case, you would need it taken to where they do inspections.

I’d also reckon whoever owns these cars knows exactly what the plate(s) are worth.
Also important to have the original paperwork and it to be on the national database following computerisation in the 70s - Otherwise, DVLA can at their discretion issue the plate (the five year SORN thing still applies) but it will be non transferable - hence, worthless.

Yeah it definitely belongs to them, the car had little Colombian flags on it

What a cracking pair of plates, likely on way back from the Veteran run London to Brighton last weekend ( or weekend before maybe)

Chinese resto and takeaway owners I knew in the UK spanked all their cash playing Mahjong (sp?) at the Casino every night, not driving very nice cars!

One of the big ones in Leeds has had a succession of nice Porsches over the years and coupled with an expensive PTL number plate for thread relevance.
