BMW 42D - reserve of £300. I’m sure it will make that!

From Donington yesterday.

First ever F50 I’ve seen and it’s got a pretty decent plate.

Pair of beautiful Aston’s with nice short plates.

And this one too hehe

When DVLA originally started selling plates at auction back in Dec 89 through "CHRISTIES" a typical sale had no more than 100 lots and all sold with no reserves,as the lots increased over the years occasionly a dealer could grab a bargain so the current reserve system was introduced....read Many dealers still pick up 1st bid reserved price numbers for stock ,there's a "It's your turn next" going on so not to out bid each other...yes

Knew a rather, er, "chesty" consultant years back who occasionally came into work in her 340R with a registration that was supposed to read similar to that (think it read more as "looby").

Saw this one last week. Can't imagine it being the cheapest of plates.

You up to your old tricks again Hoppers?
I live in Indiana and you can have practically whatever you want as a plate as long as it's not more than 7 digits and isn't derogatory or objectionable. I have VANTAGE on my Aston, had F TYPE on my F Type etc..

However for 3 years no personalized plates were issued as the BMV were sued by a cop who wanted the plate OINK. They refused and he sued them. The cop won so presumably drives around with OINK on his car.

Just out of interest I looked to see if wkER is available as it's a word the Yanks don't use. It isn't but this is apparently. I can think of a few people it would suit. hehe

Lovely car with a poor hood. Much nicer with the roof down. I wonder if they all do that, or if that one isn't held to the frame properly.

It seemed pretty rigid looking when it passed me at 80mph-ish. I like old luxury cars but that did nothing for me.

Another spot from this morning which I liked;

DUG 1E achieved £20,000+ in March 1990 via DVLA auction.

Ha! Yes it does.

But it probably looks good with that horrid top down.
