What is the big deal exactly with incorrectly spaced number plates anyway?

I know they won't pass an MOT, but then technically neither do smaller plates or de-cats etc. No issue there.

When you check MOT history online it doesn't show the numberplate with spaces... Presumably ANPR can still read them...

I get the ones that have, for example, a 13 that looks like a B are a bit naff, but is taking out the space so much of an issue?
For me it's hard to equate Real Good with "subject to fine or confiscation". You can normally spot a "bag of poo" on the horizon before you can actually read the plate, so hardly worthy of "Real Good" even if we are plagued with 2 smokin' barrels having started the board with a load of ……….biglaughbiglaugh

I saw K333 PUP on a New C class convertible Amg today. All spaced wrong to read k333p up. K33 PUP would’ve been better

Good plate on a nice car, not sure I’d have Blue wheels on my Phantom though

That's the sort of car that's very spec-dependant IMO..

The example above, would probably look gorgeous in the sun om the French Riviera, but trundling along a dismal grey British motorway it just looks totally out of place I feel..

The owner probably doesn't care though so fair play.

Take a look at the CRAPPY plates thread. Plenty of analysis / comment on there.
