£7.5k + the bits in 1999. Owner lives in Nottingham, used to be on an i8 until very recently.
Interesting colour M4, I followed it for a bit around Wetherby/York yesterday. I think I liked the colour but I certainly liked the car more than an i8!

Couldn't get a picture as I was driving but if you Google 'Signal Green M4' it's the none-competition pack version he has.

Five spaces apart at the railway station this morning, both Range Rovers
JEM 8 and JDM 8
JDM a 1952 Flintshire issue, JEM a select issue.
How do you know what year the plate was issued? I'd be very keen to know what year the plate on my bike was issued - in fact I'd love to know some history about it.

A copy of this, which covers plates up to 1963/4. It's available from Amazon for around £16. There's a follow up book by David Newall covering 1964-1974 when the system changed again; this one's harder to get hold of. Both only for the serious nerd, though. I have well-thumbed copies of both nerd , hence I think JDM 8 is better than JEM 8, as one has survived for over 60 years whilst the other was plucked from the DVLA computer. Perhaps I should start a number plate nerds thread....

David Newall also produced lists of issues from 1974 onwards (N-suffix through to Y, and than reversed A to about M as they date from the mid 90s) which I have a copy of .

Happy to look up your plate if you wish.

Saw HO55 TOW on a battered 4x4 towing a horsebox trailer yesterday. Not sure if it should be in here or not.

Made me smile.

Can someone shed some light on my plate as in when it was last sold etc and perhaps even how much it might be worth?
V80GTB.

It came with the car and never really thought about it until reading this thread.

Wasn’t an auction plate at all just a standard one bought off the DVLA site for £399 judging by other V**GTB combinations.

Ah OK so it's just because it's relevant to the car it's on not that it has any value.

Thanks

It’s a good plate for the car considering it would have been bought for a fixed price off the site and has obvious relevance. Value wise I’d have thought it would be more desirable if it was just V8 GTB without the ‘0’ so hard to put a resale value on it to be honest.

Stunning car though biggrin

That looks an excellent book!

If you could look my plate up I'd be very interested - it's FDK 470

It's a post 1932 but pre 62 Rochdale MBC plate (I'm from Rochdale and, despite the negative press it gets I have a good deal of civic pride and it's why I bought the plate - a lot of old boys spot it and comment on it). I'd be quite sad if I found out it had popped out of some computer in later years.

This won't be something that you can find out, but I do wonder if it was once on a bus as there are loads of pics on the local FB History page and lots of buses seemed to have plates in the G-H-J range. Or on a motorbike - I used to have a pic of about four police motorbikes outside our house gates and they were all GDKxxx.

An initial look says FDK commenced in early 1946 and lasted well into 1947. Rochdale Corporation had buses FDK 331-335, and famous Rochdale-based coach operator Yelloway, had FDK 566-572, all of these new in spring 1947. Yelloway, Ellen Smith and Rochdale Corporation also had a lot of GDKs as vehicle replacement kicked in after wartime austerity.

I will look it up tonight to see if there's any further info.
