Old Rolls New plate....?confused

DVLA Auction number sold for£4500 + VAT in April 2008..
Wow that's odd - would've expected it to be the original reg, the plates looked to be the period black and silver embossed ones
Maybe it originally had a REAL good plate... posh car dealers often had contacts at local licensing offices and would get attractive low number combinations. Hence you often see old Rollers, Jags etc on 'good' original plates. Although, if he had just sold it, DVLA would have allocated a non-transferable, period correct plate for free...

S 45 - Black RRS

JC 13 - Elderly Silver S Class Mercedes (Surprised that JCB haven't snapped it up)

M4 TES - Blue Maserati Levante

C4 RGO - Blue Ssangyong

(Last 2 avoided the temptation to make them into the most obvious plates)
