What is your ideal car?

Mk2 Exige with 911 Gt3 RS 4.0 engine.
Should still be under a tonne (I think) with ~500bhp and no electronics.
I have no commute, the shop for milk is a 3 minute walk, I don't do DIY, no kids, have never 'done a run to the tip' in all my life (I don't know what you people are doing there so often) and actually have no practical need for a car whatsoever (hence currently have no car).Should still be under a tonne (I think) with ~500bhp and no electronics.
It's not possible to combine all my requirements into one car, so I've listed three categories below. I'm pleased to say that I'm virtually there with my current daily driver and track car (there are just a few things I'd change about each), I just need a nice GT car for weekends and holidays
Practical Daily Driver
FE/RWD
Under 1600kg
Manual gearbox
Linear controls with no lag in normal driving
Good handling
Good feedback
Low CofG and low roofline for loading things on the roof
Large/huge boot
Quiet at speed
Comfortable
Good driving position (bum lower than knees, legs reasonably straight, steering wheel in front of me and within easy reach, steering wheel and dash in front of me not beneath me, and a feeling of being in the car, not on it).
Towing limit over 1500kg
Reasonable economy
Enough performance for me not to get bored
weekend/holiday car
FE/RWD or ME/RWD
Manual gearbox
Under 1500kg
Over 200 bhp/tonne
Good driving position (see above)
Linear controls with no lag in normal driving
Large boot
Good handling
Good feedback
Comfortable
Quiet
ok economy for those long euro trips
A nice engine is preferred, but not essential (i.e. 6+ cyls, nice sound, no turbos).
Track Car
ME/RWD
Manual Gearbox (H pattern or sequential, I don't mind)
Under 600kg
Very low CofG
Good driving position (see above)
Slicks
Sharp but forgiving handling
Over 350bhp/tonne
Fast (e.g. A lap of Silverstone GP in close to or under 2 minutes)
Loud and a reasonable sound

EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS?
My ideal car for this point of my life (soon to be 4 of us) is a Porsche Panamera the size of a B8 Audi RS4 with a n/a V8, 30+ mpg, 8000+ rpm before the limiter, PDK, rwd or heavily biased to the rear awd and a hydraulic steering rack that feels like my old 997.
Can somebody make this please for under £40k?!

Why has no one said a Subaru Legacy turbo yet?
A twin scroll estate would be perfect for me. It's 4wd, fast, huge boot, great handling etc.
When I was a student I used to have an old NA estate and it was still pretty good.
Oh and did I mention it's cheap enough for a 27 year old design engineer to afford!

This is a difficult question because on one hand one would want something really beautiful and compact like the Alfa Tipo 33 Stradale but with modern reliability/brakes etc. If that is a little to impractical then a re-imagined modern BMW M1 with carbon tub but the originals engine character would be mega, perhaps the E46 M3 CSL engine would do the trick.

At the moment, after living with an ep3 type r for over a month, I absolutley adore this car, AMAZING machine, so light and nimble, so quick and characterful, I think i'd like the exact same car as mine but manufactorer in 2016, so comes with all the things a 2016 car comes with, DAB, aux, sensors....you know, the things a basic Civic comes with, but has to have the same weight and drivetrain, same driving style....i guess the newer shape to mine is that but there this will be the deal breaker for loads of you.....AN AUTOMATIC GEAR BOX....oh no! hahahahaha, no seriously, I'd love it if the type r came with a super fast shifting auto, imagine flicking the paddle at the 8000rpm redline, that would be the perfect car for me, 200 bhp, around 1200-300 kg, practical and relatively good on fuel.
If you think about it, there isnt actually high revving naturally aspirated doube clutch sub 7 second car availablle for sale today for under 30k

Ideal Car?
Tough one, in fact is there such a thing as an ideal car? I think the compromises I'd make to have one ideal car would be
RS4 Avant
>400 BHP
AWD
Load Lugging Capability
<4.8 0 - 60
V8
Enough performance, Practical. No track car and heavy but you're going to have to make compromises for one ideal car right?

Prefer it's dimensions to the RS6 and that V8 is complete sonorous heaven.
the new RS4 with its bi electric turbo V6 should resolve that issue

That doesnt make sense to me, an RS4 being gutless low down and poor to drive, I had a e46 330i auto with about 220 lbft and i changed it for an ep3 type r and before i did, i was put off by the high redline and the *140* lbft, put off because i thought it would have to be revved out all the time, what a load of bks that was, test drove it and it was completely fine, perfect in fact, never need to rev it out, short gearing means you will easily with no fuss reach 60 from say...20 mpg without passing 4000 rpm.....please explain how a 4.2 v8 audi rs4 is gutless!! You must be comparing it to an s65 amg or flying spur
I understand where he's coming from to be fair, when I had my E92 M3(manual) its relatively low torque figure of 295ibft(for a V8) and with it having max power at a very heady 8300rpm coupled to a kerb weight of over 1600kg made it feel gutless low down and it was hard to comprehend that it had 414 bhp(never felt it). I currently have E90 330i auto with 221ibft and that to me feels woefully limp low down and it's completely limp full stop to be fair, I find it hard to believe that 140ibft is completely fine from my experience(civic does have a lower kerb weight on its side though).

In a thread with no theoretical budget, you really have to ask? cerb4.5lee said:
My old Cerbera 4.5 was pretty close for me...I still needed to run another car for tip runs and when it didn't work though, so not exactly ideal.
All cars have a compromise of some sort...so for me there isn't such a thing as an ideal car sadly.
Wow, surprised at this suggestion. Mine was horrendous to drive in traffic, things liked to break on it, water leaked on to your feet when it rained, the steering wheel switches worked when they decided to work, windscreen wipers never really got on with the windscreen, it was a bd to park and in less than perfect conditions it was frankly terrifying. All cars have a compromise of some sort...so for me there isn't such a thing as an ideal car sadly.
