Sometimes, certain factory extras rarely seem to be specced on cars when new. First one that springs to mind for me is the electric rear sunblind on the E46 3-series.

What others are there?

The Panda 100HP 'skydome' is a rare option on an already uncommon car.

Also, climate control on the Clio 172 Cup. £800 option later in its run, ironically a common/essential option on pretty much any other car that if anything devalues the very point of existence of this car.

It's not that rare, it was just a £1200 option iirc, BMW have rarer options like
Extended leather
Double glazing
Extended rear centre console
Upgraded rear arm rest with phone/AC control/ stereo control and you could spec a fax machine as well

Adaptive cruise control on countless recent mid sized BMWs, Audis and Mercs

I've become really spoilt by it with my Golf Mk7 which had ACC standard fit across virtually the entire range. Trying to find a 2-3 year old replacement where the original owner has specified is proving challenging and time consuming!

Bike rack option on a Renault Modus, the bike rack slotted into the bumper; great idea, wrong car.

Unfortunately Renault and the marketing bods got the Modus spectacularly wrong; aimed at cool young people who surf and mountain bike, when in reality was purchased by and ideal for; the blue rinse brigade, I could have saved Renault a massive chunk of money if they'd asked me who the Modus should be aimed at!!

Only seen one and it was on a launch car.

MiniDisc player in the Civic Type-R (UKDM EP3). Full leather is a good spot too.

My MD-player worked really nicely, never skipped and was quick enough. It was a shame that the Sony SonicStage software was terrible; that wrote off the whole experience of the media unfortunately.

Not a 'factory' option IIRC, it was fitted at dealers rather than at the factory. Hence there being lots of colour combinations.

I'm going to be a bit of a geek here, and say that both the Leather and aircon options were dealer fit rather than factory fit options.

Same deal with the Ford Fusion, apparently the concept sketches looked pretty neat then it got increasingly watered down as it was developed.

I think there was a similar bike rack option on the Corsa
