I keep seeing the headlights that turn a bit with the steering wheel as options for various cars, never met anyone who's had them fitted (or at least said they've had them fitted...).
I had adaptive headlights that swivel in my old 57 plate VW Passat. They were great on the twisty country roads around here and I really noticed the difference when I moved onto the next car, which wasn't fitted with them.
They also had a great feature which was a totaly seperate bulb that pointed at 90 degrees out of the side of the headlight unit. It came on below 10mph, whenever the indicator on that side was used. Kind of like the stupid "turning fog" feature on other cars, but actually useful as it was designed for that purpose. It was particlarly useful when turning right off of a busy road at night where you had to wait to cross opposing traffic, and meant the road or driveway you were about to turn into was nicely lit.
I also never got tired of the little self test the swivelling housings did every time the ignition was turned on at night. The two headlight beams would do a little "down>split>centre>up" dance which I always thought was cool.

My old 197 seemed to confuse people.
It had a factory optional extra of a panoramic sunroof, I actually had someone say in front of me at a car show a few years ago 'he must have fitted the 197 bits to a 1.2, you can't get a sunroof on those sports'
In the 4 years I owned it I must have come across 3 others with it. One at a car show in 2014, a twin to mine on the A3 a few times and a LY one that someone I know brought.
Just thought to add it also had TPMS no one else's 197 seemed to have that. Every time I mentioned it I seemed to get asked how I had that (mine was a January 2007 car so very early version that seemed to end up with everything it could have bar recaros and cup which weren't available at that time)
I've got one on my 197 and it really is rare. I never found another car with a sunroof when I was looking to buy mine. I've never even heard of a TPMS for the 197s! Although the rarest option on the 197 is the parcel shelf with the integrated sunblind and storage bag on the underneath. I've only ever seen two for sale, both on mainland Europe, both of which I purchased It had a factory optional extra of a panoramic sunroof, I actually had someone say in front of me at a car show a few years ago 'he must have fitted the 197 bits to a 1.2, you can't get a sunroof on those sports'

Having never driven a car with cooled seats, what are we talking, barely noticeable or chilly balls?
On a scale of barely noticeable to sperm freezing, it sits somewhere in between. If you wear thick jeans, it's barely noticeable but thin suit trousers, it's more effective. It's certainly not powerful like heated seats.I had some in a Mercedes CLK, and they were crap. The dealer told me the air pump had failed, so it was replaced under warranty, and after that, they were just as crap as before.

Had them on a Focus, once you've had them you'll want them all the time, really really good idea.VF7 said:
Xenon
And not optional, but being a GTI it had a black ceiling, which the normal Lupo didn't have.
Was a great little car!!
ETA
I forgot about the Xenon lights!!
Xenon's were standard on the Lupo GTI's just like the 6N2 Polo GTI's. Great little carAnd not optional, but being a GTI it had a black ceiling, which the normal Lupo didn't have.

Indicators on a BMW
Congratulations on being the hilarious original gag poster for this thread. Oh, hang on a minute......My Megane 275 Trophy I specced the Ohlins which aren't too common because of the list price (2k) and the even rarer factory sunroof. I actually got every single option bar the spare wheel and fancy Michelin tyres.

You could get them fitted to a series 1 Land Rover Discovery. I bought a brand new set for my then 19 year old Disco... but so poor was the quality of LR plastic to fit them too that everything had warped out of shape and no flat surfaces remainedsim72 said:

On the subject of climatronic, presumably Mk3 Golfs with climatronic were very rare?
I've only seen one or two. Loved that car. Bought in 2014 with 60k on the clock. Should never have sold it.
