I had my hair cut earlier this evening and this very subject came up in and amongst the usual mindless hair cutting discussions, she has just ordered a new Mini, apparently her boyfriend steered her towards "the really fast one", which I'm taking to be a Cooper S.

Well played that man hehe

My old one has a Peugeot 205 diesel with a smattering of rust showing between the dirt, permanent pool of oil under it and mostly a flat battery. The puddle is becoming fairly impressive due to the fact she's now bought the flat above the shop so rarely drives.

My new one takes the bus, in fact so does the owner. Both caught drink driving apparently which is why the first rule is to get there early before the drink kicks in and you end up with a slightly more interesting hair cut than you expected.

My thread has finally arrived......

Some very clichéd PH cars as it happens including an MX5, MR2 Spyder, Z4 and MINI.

I've tried to offset these with (over various years) an M3csl, Porsche 993 RS rep, 911 3.0, Megane R26.R, Exige amongst many (many) others and in my defence the MINI was a GP and the Z4 an M Coupe.

For the interest of the thread, my staff have had various cars but I'd say the MINI is most popular

Currently using a new style Civic Type-R.

I genuinely bought my mx5 from a guy who was a hairdresser. Although he had a girlfriend/ wife/ female partner so wasn't the full stereotype.

Mine drives an Aygo, a pretty old one.

But at £8 a go, she's hardly got any choice.

She's been cutting my hair for 30 years, she used to be very good looking, same age as my Mum.

Weird.

Mine has a E39 540i in dark red with black interior, and genuine Alpina alloys.

I feel her partner had a little input with this choice.. hehe

Of the ones I've known well enough to find out what car they owned, there's been an Isuzu Piazza (back in the early '90s) and a Volvo C30.

Oh, and... wait for it... yes, a Mazda MX-5!

Some answers in this topic can't be right surely. I thought hairdressers only drove Mazda mx5 and Audi TT...

All of the scissor-wielders at the place I get my hair cut have Binis of varying descriptions, apart from one who has an MGF and one who doesn't drive.

My old barber (now retired) had an XJR-S and an E-Type. VERY cool guy.

In that case, she is not a hairdresser, she is a trophy wife who happens to trim hair on the side.

You would be surprised as the business can be very lucrative in some circles dependant on the clients that are being served. She may own an established business, the woman who owns the place I use is loaded by all accounts and spends much of her time in London doing hair for modelling shoots for example.
