They can't win then can they? Buckets of complaints on threads in PH that Aston Martin/Porsche/whoever aren't deviating enough away enough from the 'old style' cars and just as many who say 'it doesn't look like an Aston Martin/Porsche/whoever'should.

I think it's a great evolution of the classic modern Aston style and it looks like they've updated almost everything mechanical (except the gearbox?) or electrical.

I won't probably ever be in a position to buy one, but if I was, I certainly would. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc etc.

I prefer evolution
The 911 (evolution masterclass)had Ulrich Bez over-see a lot of changes, but it has not been without it's dips though, aesthetically, not every step that is taken is a good one.
So Ulrich Bez heads to Aston and over sees an overhaul of the DB range, pretty much replicating the Porsche model.
The evolution of the DB range has not been without it's dips though, aesthetically, not every step that is taken is a good one...and in comparison to the DB9/V8..this ain't in the right direction IMO...

Ulrich seems to be the Tom Cruise of the car boss world, he's a pretty good Tom-Cruise-type-car- boss too....

Ouch....a turbo engine in an aston? I just about swallowed the ferraris and the 'non-turbo' 911's going turbo but this is just awful to see frown
Yes, awful.

The turbo kills it instantly, irrespective of the V12 engine being entirely behind the front axle and the box being in front of the rear and the resulting low PMOI.

How dare they do what they want with their product range ?

Don't worry - this is the entry level cruiser. They will be ripping the arse out of things with many variations and editions in the future

I'm interested to know which competition have significantly more power?

The S65 coupe and Continental GT Speed are a little more powerful but also well the wrong side of two tonnes. The most powerful M6 has about the same power and is heavier. The GTC4 is quite a lot more powerful but too expensive to really be considered competition for the entry level Aston GT. The 911 Turbo S is less powerful (although considerably lighter) but still straddles the sports/GT line a bit too much to really be direct competition.

That's a carbuncle of a car.

The front and back are obviously from different cars and its a "cut and shut".

Sorry if I'm in the minority but that's just AWFUL

Front already looks dated and the rear, I'm lost for words

There was a white one at a clasic car meet near Northampton on Wednesday, which did not have a badge, and was still wearing some of the 'camouflage' wrap. I thought it was gorgeous.
Supprisingly, very few people seemed to pay it much attention, or even know what it was .

The more camouflage the better IMHO.
Wouldn't want to be seen dead in that.

3.9secs to 60 mph is slow these days for £170k car.

Mmm that or a McLaren 570S .....give me a nano second, ok McLaren it is

Oh dear, poor old Aston, really dosnt know eh.

The DB7, a jaguar design pinched in difficult times is considered heritage in the DB11's design language. A convoluted mess based on a weird selection of cues, made worse by having real style/character in their back catalogue.

Disappointed

I think it's perfect, absolutely love it.

I also like Astons take on downsizing, 6.0 V12 replaced by a 5.2 V12 with 2 turbos. Someone much have had a laugh when it was signed off.

They'll sell loads, I'd have one above all else if could afford it, I can't.

Looks like a shocker to me.
Sorry, I cannot see the natural progression between the DB5 to the DB7 in the way the 911 has evolved!

Oh just what it needed, 3 inches wider and a bit heavier, with a nose that looks like it had a really bad facelift. I was looking for an oh-so-witty comparison image of an elderly Roger Moore to make a cutting and pithy James Bond comparison, but it turns out he still looks pretty good in a sharp suit, just a bit more "mature".

I'm sure it will go down amazingly well in AM's target market. China and US businessmen. I'm not even sure it will appeal that much to footballers in this guise. On the plus side, it makes the DB9 and S look even better. Given this and the new Lagonda, are we now in AM's "Bangle" era?

Interesting to see that the engine is still an AM development, but the electronics shows Mercedes traces already.

It's utterly stunning to my eyes.

As for the 0-62 time that's traction limited, it will haul ass from 50-125mph once it can get the power down, my car will do 60 in 4 seconds and you really don't want it to be much quicker as you come into conflict with other traffic constantly if you try and use that capability.

Better to have huge amounts of mid range and high end grunt for those times you can enjoy the car when no one is looking 0-60 is a meaningless metric on your favourite road. (unless your favourite road is an inner city bypass near a northern mill town init)

Not really a competitor to a 570s is it?

Looks very colour sensitive but it does look like a pretty epic way to cross continents in which is exactly what a luxury GT car should be all about.

Big thumbs up.
