What cars do you wish you'd bought?
Discussion
Seen quite a few threads where people bemoan the fact that they didn't buy a 911 before they started being silly money, I wondered what cars are there that were vaguely affordable that are now stupid money (note I'm thinking vaguely affordable - a Z8 don't fall into that bracket)
I can think of 3 or 4
E-type (at one point there was a kitcar developed which had a e-type as the chassis & engine!!!)
Hemi-Charger
Hemi-Challenger (both cases GOOD ones can fetch 250k)
'Pagoda' mercedes

996.2 GT3 around 6 years ago - 20k mile one owner car for £40k
M3 CSL around 8 years ago - 30k mile cars were £30ish k
1M when they were brand new as would've had a few years of virtually free motoring
F40 a few years ago - not that I could've afforded one but I suggested to some colleagues that half a dozen of us pitch in £50k each for an F40 or Carerra GT as we couldn't fail to make a profit!

Ferrari 348. Almost traded my Fiat Coupe in for one back in 1998, they were very unloved and you could pick them up for not much more than the Fiat cost new.
Back in the 70's my Dad was given the option to swap his new MGB V8 for a Aston DB6. He kept the MG.

Red Ferrari Dino in early 1979. £1500....it was a bit rough even then. For sale at a Talbot dealer...just changed from Chrysler where a few months earlier I'd bought a Chrysler Sunbeam 1.6 GL... Also in Red!
Still can't beleive it. Well actually I could. At the time the sunbeam seemed better..... Oh for the power of hindsight.

1999 went to see 911 2.7 RS .....sub £25k might have been closer to £20k
Wife said it looked pant, bit of rust and had a silly spoiler
Ended up buying a nearly new Honda ITR instead - A good 2.7 RS is now over 1/2 million
Couple of years earlier (mid 90's) I went with a friend to see a 911 3.2...it wasn't as mint as described so friend declined, the seller then showed us his 'Ferrari' dino that could be had for £17k - how we laughed at what a crappy old car it was ...
